Bassem Youssef, the Egyptian Hamas supporter who holds an American passport, whose lies since October 7 have served Islamic jihad in the West like many others, and whom I warned you about and told you how he was not only vilifying Israel but also advancing an agenda that harms the West and makes it vulnerable, posted something today and then immediately deleted it.
In that post, he revealed to his Arabic-speaking audience his real sentiment toward the U.S.
"Among the things he said that expose him: he told his followers not to celebrate Iranian gains in this war and to be “realistic,” because even though 13 American soldiers were killed, and “it’s their right to celebrate,” just as they used to celebrate when Hamas terrorists blew up Israeli tanks and kill IDF soldiers, Iran is still losing overall, just as Gaza was destroyed."
"He literally called the American Army "the enemy" but he called his followers not to be very optimistic, and even though inflating the achievements of the Iranians is important, yet it doesn't mean the are really winning."
People like him hate America. He does not deserve to hold an American passport or to use “we” when referring to the United States.
Below is a literal translation of his post. But those of us who understand Arabic can grasp what can never be translated.
"Life is beautiful. Life is very beautiful. Life gives you hope. It gives you energy. But loving life more than necessary can turn into blindness. And maybe I’m wrong.
Someone like me watches people celebrating military victories for Iran or for its fighters in the war, and I understand that. Standing firm and not breaking in front of a great empire in history is certainly something inspiring. I myself am afraid of the scenes we used to celebrate (and we had the right to celebrate, of course)—when someone in Gaza blows up a tank from zero distance. There were indeed heroic acts, truly brave.
But in the end, unfortunately, time passes and Gaza gets emptied, destroyed, and nearly 100,000 people die, in exchange for losses that are almost negligible on the other side.
The same idea of celebrating killing 6, or 10, or even 12 soldiers from the American army—or breaking the nose of the Iranians—because unfortunately we see the American or Israeli soldier as having the value of hundreds of us, even if there aren’t thousands of us.
Glorifying Iranian achievements is understandable and important in itself. But guys, war is going in a very brutal direction. Even if America loses soldiers in a ground invasion, even if energy prices go up and ignite, we are not dealing with a country (America) that cares about the lives of its people, or even its soldiers, or even about rising prices.
We are dealing with individuals and war companies for whom this war is extremely profitable, even at the expense of thousands of lives—even if those lives are American.
Even if there is a president we call crazy, and every statement he makes shakes the stock market, and those who profit from it make billions through speculation.
Forget the idea that these are countries or governments against each other. The Iranian citizen, the American citizen, and the Arab citizen—we are all losers.
Unfortunately, war is like a beast that no one can control.
Shooting down one plane out of 15,000 sorties means nothing.
And I don’t mean to discourage people. We saw the invasion of Iraq and the “Alouj” (the Americans), and what happened afterward. What we saw in Gaza, Lebanon, and what we are seeing in Iran.
We are living among people who have no problem using nuclear weapons, and nothing will stop them. May I be wrong.
I am not calling for surrender or defeat. You are facing an enemy who will come, kill you, and take your land whether you fight or not.
I am only afraid of excessive attachment to life beyond what is necessary—and the the that we deceive ourselves with illusions of victory.
