@Dys_Texan @JAtanackov @OldCranky183 The point is if you have no interest in northern lights and live in a populated area your chances of randomly catching the northern lights are pretty much zero. They're already quite faint with the naked eye and when you're not looking for them its very easy to miss

I’m 60, up until the last few years I witnessed the northern lights in Kentucky 3 times in my life. In the last 3-4 years I’ve seen them at least 3 times. Something isn’t right with the earth’s magnetic fields and it appears to be worsening.

So. It seems like the 'rapid weakening of Earth's magnetic field' is cancelled. *They* were telling us that smaller flares would produce bigger geomagnetic storms. That X3 flares would be as bad as X30 used to be. Well, we've had an X9 blown in our face and nadda. Should have felt like an X90. Nothing. Next:

@SpannersReady @thomasmaheronf1 Has there been any talk to bring re-gen to the front wheels? Might that help with the lack of harvesting? I recall teams were against it because Audi has a head start on that tech, but could they be the fix to the recharge issues?

I'm hearing some interesting admissions off the back of Suzuka - namely, that there's a growing awareness within the FIA that the 50/50 split has been the wrong direction. It's understood that, in the short-term, energy deployment limits are being looked at while, longer-term, a change in the ICE vs. electrical split. Getting the drivers and teams in alignment is a hurdle to clear, with the teams not all agreeing with their drivers on the issues, but there is an awareness now that changes are needed. #F1 #JapaneseGP

@R0thmansEra Thats exactly why i put in the "cars they are racing" part. In multiclass they arent actually fighting eachother and both have best interests in working together. Its completely different here where they're fighting for position and both know its difficult to make a overtake

My opinion is that the Macarena wing could very well stay on the car this weekend provided that the actuator mechanism is reliable enough to last the race distance. Closing DRS into T1 has been done manually around Suzuka for ages, and the 2nd SM zone this weekend seems to end a fair bit before 130R. No added workload and room to mitigate the issues under braking seen in China.

@PenteanoO @Amanda_kisses @F1BigData @wearetherace The thing is that they can already quite easily fully charge the battery so increasing the regen wont help as they would still run out on long straights. And cutting power isnt an issue as the other guy told. Cutting electric power means they'll be burning more fuel

@Amanda_kisses @F1BigData @wearetherace Fuel is not the issue. Harvesting the same that is deployed (or less in SP) is the issue. I prefer to keep the 50-50 PUs as they bring good racing. If they had 700kW harvesting capability they'd drive almost the same way they did till last year.

Instead of trying to bring Max down, you can simply celebrate Kimi doing a great job If you want to be fair, yes Max had 2 cars collide out front, that said it was his first weekend on the team at 18 years old, he’d never driven the car prior to that. That’s unheard of. Kimi won in the clear fastest car. Max spent 31 laps on mediums fending off a wdc and beating both Ferraris, the gap was essentially nothing

@davidperel The only use i can see is single player enduros. Think like iracing's ai for 24hours. You do what stints you want, and let it unfold while you go nap for 8 hours. Other than that its completely worthless to me

Oddly enough, this outlook made me actually like this new format MORE. It does provide a better graphical representation of the conditional intensity risk especially along the edges. Example: Northeast Ohio. 2% Cig 1, tornadoes could form but are relatively unlikely but if one does it has a higher chance than usual if being intense.

F1 will use the semi-automatic ECAT (Every Car All Turns) system to help detect track limits this year The idea is for the system to interpret the cars' behavior by comparing it to a reference model. By cross-referencing this information with the lap data from the micro-sector, RaceWatch (the Race Management Software developed by the FIA and Catapult) can understand what happened at that point on the track, then flagging the incident for possible review @Motorsport_IT
