@AllThingsCivil @BradDuplessis Ah....I was wondering why it only applied to one installation. In the Corps, a base ban applies to all installations who fall under that command, so MCI-West ban on Pendleton means Pendleton, Yuma, Miramar and Barstow.
He can still go to 29 Stumps and MCRD! 🤣

🚨Heavy Handed removal of retiree benefits: A retired LCDR was just banned from all Navy bases and facilities in the Hampton Roads area for accidentally having a personal weapon in his vehicle at the base gate checkpoint. The retired naval officer has a Concealed Carry Permit. He also followed all directions provided to him by base security while voluntarily discussing his CC permit and noting that he had mistakenly had the weapon in his vehicle. Security suggested he turn around and come back without the weapon. He did so gladly and immediately returned back through the same gate (without the weapon of course) while the same security guards offered apologies for the inconvenience. The subsequent ban was an unexpected shock and a grave heavy-handed response to an honest mistake. The JAGs and Commander at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek have unilaterally removed all retiree benefits (except retiree pay) from an honorable man. He can no longer attend base functions, work a job on the base, use MWR facilities, or the commissary (military grocery store). Based on Secretary @PeteHegseth’s desire to ensure Second Amendment rights are defended by our Institutions, and that those exercising these rights are not unlawfully weaponized against, I pray this ban is quickly reversed.

Former grade determination review board member here. An AGDRB is initiated if DEROG is in the officer’s file when they request retirement. In this case, either there was no DEROG to trigger an AGDRB or a board determined the officer should retire at their highest rank.

Unfortunately, no penalties have been paid. There has been zero military accountability. We have a perfect (and politically palatable) tool in Grade Determinations (reducing retired rank) but apparently we are just going to let all the criminality by military brass over the last 10 years simply slide.

This is where @SecWar requires that this commander and her entire chain of command appear before him at 0800 this Friday to explain, in detail, why they have failed to follow his intent in this matter and how they intend to remedy their failure. The commander should be advised that her deputy must accompany her and ready to assume command.
If you don’t stamp out this kind of disrespectful refusal to comply with your orders, you have set a standard in which you are no longer a leader. You are a subordinate. I don’t see @PeteHegseth playing that game.

A Tulare County detective was ambushed and killed Thursday morning while serving an eviction notice in Porterville, CA.
Detective Randy Hoppert was shot by a 60-year-old suspect armed with a high-powered rifle. He died at a local hospital, leaving his four-months-pregnant wife behind.
The suspect barricaded himself, then later emerged in tactical gear and opened fire on SWAT. Officers ran him over with a BearCat, killing him instantly.
No prior record. Motive unknown.
