@personalhimbo If this is an actual question and not bait it's because if it was the same length, then you would have 3 bars (virus, shield, and health) all the same length which may be confusing. The bars are all different looking to convey that they are representing different things

guys there is a reason the shield bar is smaller than the normal health bar.

@gmeinersYT @MacticsG1 melee isn't stronger than wstr in isolation, in fact wstr is the only thing that's faster than melee. What melee is good for are attacks past the 2 shots from the shotgun, you can just keep swinging. Maybe they increase overheat for successive attacks though. That could be fair

Idk... the melee takes no skill, auto locks for you, if you get the jump on someone there is nothing they can do to turn the fight. Like melee is basically stronger than WSTR since you have infinite attacks you can do. In this case they should have checked their surroundings 100%. But with how ratty extraction shooters can play and with how much movement / invis stuff there is I think knifing is OP

Maybe a hot take idk but i think if someone manages to gets close enough to you without you noticing to be able to heavy knife attack you twice you kinda should die no matter what your gear is

@ottrTweets 1. thermals need to be removed 2. the knife has to be strong to make weaker players remotely threatening. if they removed bubbles, shotguns, and sniper combos they could nerf the knife but that would be silly. It's like saying melee in halo should be nerfed. thats the whole game

@kush346 @Baze_face @MinEffortLive @Ms5000Watts This is not an actual issue in the game. Players are immediately identifiable by hero at a distance from their silhouette. There's no clutter, everything is made of simple shapes and primary colors. It's very mirror's edge like in that way.

There are a ton of people who would genuinely love marathon who aren’t playing it. It’s the only FPS MP game that’s grabbed me in many years and offers something actually unique in the space. I hope more people give it a try, it’s a fantastic game

@thorshammer1205 @vesseloftauceti gear fear isn't a thing in Marathon. The loot aspect is fake, because you get flooded with resources constantly. It's just a hero shooter.

@vesseloftauceti I think with how brutal the game is ultimately is what is keeping players from enjoying it or taking a chance on it. An average player won’t want to play this. People don’t like losing their stuff. Like if I wasn’t in my current situation I wouldn’t be playing this

Genuinely cannot fathom how Bungie was able to hunker down, their backs against the wall and create such a phenomenally brutal sci fi experience. It’s really sad to see it be a focal point for culture war mouth frothers instead of something to be celebrated.
