One reason why I decided to get a Cybertruck. Since PA’s is a flat rate regardless of vehicle weight or mileage, I might as well drive something big and heavy that at least does a fraction of the damage that I’m paying for.
The whole thing is ridiculous, especially when you consider how much gas tax is paid to run lawn mowers.

Saskatchewan raised the EV road tax from $150/ yr to $300 a year fixed rate, and starting in 2027 it will also rise with inflation. On avg a car getting 8L/100km would pay roughly $189 a year in road taxes over 15,000km. An EV would have to travel more than 25,000km to pay less

@Lylesch @wholemars Flat tax isn’t fair when most people still pay per mile. I pay the same to drive my Cybertruck 13,000 miles per year as I do for my other car to drive <1,000 miles per year.
Scrap the whole thing and do a penny per mile on all passenger vehicles.

@HustleBitch_ ekey on your phone is the best using NFC. MINI has it. Walk up to the car, it unlocks. Walk away, it locks. No FOB needed, unless you want to use it.

Early stalkless Teslas still had the one press/double press option for TACC/Autosteer, too. It worked because only Autosteer/FSD had a chime. Cruise enabled silently.
More idiot-proof now, but it still sucks when I hitch up and hit the road and forget to switch to TACC because we can’t do it while moving. Trailer mode needs to do this automatically until FSD can tow. Even on my 3, there are times where Autosteer and FSD both can’t handle a situation or conditions but TACC can (maintaining highway speed in heavy rain, for instance). Let me easily switch between them, Tesla. Both GM and Stellantis have a quick, easy, and obvious way to choose between basic cruise and adaptive cruise.

On my (2024) the button only does one thing. It turns on/off FSD.
If I have autopilot enabled instead it will turn on/off autopilot.
Having a button or stalk serve multiple purposes when it comes to autonomous features is (IMO) a bad idea.
I realize that’s how older teslas work, and I think it’s a bad design.

Rivian Universal Hands-Free vs Tesla Self-Driving
This was my first time testing Rivian's new Universal Hands-Free, and I was honestly surprised by how it performed. I understand this is their first attempt and it will only improve from here, but truthfully, it is worse than any version of FSD or Autopilot I have ever used. I respect Rivian as a company, but I always try to remain unbiased in my opinions, so here are my unfiltered thoughts on where UHF stands today. Hoping to test it more as the system receives major updates!

@ChadMoran Even if that was the case, she disengaged soon enough to apply some serious brakes and she didn’t.
Regardless, it’s worth testing anyway to make sure it’s not a problem spot for FSD. Some accounts here are big enough to have the ear of Tesla execs.

@RuffBuffet I suspect what happened here is the truck thought it was on the highway still so it didn't anticipate the turn. On 13 my partners Model 3 would cross double yellows around our house all of the time.

Is this not a double standard? The CT was on FSD 13, this test on FSD 14. Every time I post a critical issue FSD has done 90% of the comments are yelling at me about how I'm "not on the latest version". Yet we're using a version 6 months newer to prove an older one DIDN'T do something?

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@ChadMoran @PGStheone The real reason people get trapped in Teslas that catch fire is because the crash is so severe that it physically jams the doors shut. No door handle will solve a problem that requires hydraulic power tools.
