We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Constance E. Clayton, Ed.D. former School District of Philadelphia’s first African American and female superintendent. Her work impacted the lives of countless children and her legacy will be memorialized.

I had the honor of getting to know Dr. Clayton during my time here in Philadelphia through both mentorship and friendship. She embodied a true educator and humanitarian through her dedication to improving the lives of children in education. I extend my heartfelt condolences.
