@theresamwebster @Old_SchoolEddie exactly right, and Scripture backs it up perfectly. A priest doesn't forgive sins in his own name, he acts in persona Christi. This is precisely why the formula of absolution is: "I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

@RisingDisciples The Trinity is not explicitly taught in Scripture, but the evidence is overwhelming. Calvinism does not teach God has two wills. It has always been His will to save those who are elect in the Son.

If Sola Scriptura is so important, how did Calvinists come up with... God having TWO WILLS (decretive & preceptive); irresistible grace; regeneration before faith; limited atonement; & God decreeing whatsoever comes to pass? None of these are explicitly taught in Scripture.

It’s NOT a matter for us to divide over. You disagree with me, that’s fine. I know what I think. But I think the NIV waters down the Scripture. Look at 2 Tim 3:16. How inspiration is replaced by ‘God breathed’. I’ll stick with the King James thank you!

“But Deborah!” was not a pastor. “But Phoebe!” was not a pastor. “But Miriam!” was not a pastor. “But Esther!” was not a pastor. “But Junia!” was not a pastor. “But Mary!” was not a pastor. There are no women pastors in the Bible. Women cannot be pastors (1 Tim. 2:11-3:7).

@choconservative @rootcausesleuth The Bible says he chose us when we were dead in sin, incapable & unwilling to choose him. If we chose God, how can salvation be a gift? How can it be mercy? How can it it be grace? How can we choose that God will forgive us? Free will must be understood in the sovereignty of God

God hates sin. So, as a punishment for sin, he made all people with a sin nature that can only sin? How does that make any sense?

"103 of the previous 105 archbishops of Canterbury—stretching back across fifteen centuries—would have found it impossible to imagine, because it ought to be (and is) a theological impossibility. And yet, here it is, right before our eyes, like a great ecclesiological magic trick." NEW article. thatgoodfight.substack.com/p/the-tragedy-…

@5Solas2 They also believe the earth is flat. They call themselves The World's Last Chance. I've had a look at their web site and it is clear that the people at @WLC_Team are blithering idiots.

People are quick to blame Eve for eating the fruit I was today years old when, after reading the story for the thousandth time, I realized that Adam was “with her” when she was speaking with the serpent (Gen 3:6) Adam allowed his wife to court evil right in front of him, and then he blamed her for the fallout Explains a lot about the way things are today

@Catholicizm1 Why? “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matt 7:13-14 Jesus

@RLWatsonAuthor This is you demonstrating your pride and ignorance, showing us all that you can't admit that the Bible doesn't have any chapter and verse to substantiate your claim. Thanks for the demonstration. This is the end. Goodbye.

@MerylsaMess @Truth_matters20 Obviously your intensity of study was insufficient. Rev 1-3 is addressing 7 congregations. From Ch 4 God's people at large are referred as Saints, as Paul consistently does throughout his letters. 1 Thes 4 speaks of the Saints, living and dead joining Christ as he comes to Judge.

Yes. I used to be on the fence until I put some undeniable pieces together. I think there’s just too much evidence of pre-trib rapture when doing an intense study of scripture from a literal lens. The church is in Revelation 1-3 in Jesus letters (penned by John) to the 7 churches, but the church is absent from Earth during the Tribulation. “I will keep you from the hour of trial” Revelation 3:10 (to the faithful church in Philadelphia). “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven… and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…”1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
