@ViscResponse You saying that doesn't change laws and policies that are in place though. He 100% would've lost his license for stealing meds from patients and tampering with vials. Not sure what universe you live in that you think you would just get rehab for that.

i mean as health workers have BEEN saying, thats simply not true. addiction (and drug theft) are so common amongst health workers that there are literal systems in place to rehabilitate them rather than fire them. you CAN steal medication and not go to jail or lose your job
eugenie .ೃ࿐@secret_genie_

We can be team santos or team langdon (or both) because we're just spectators, but bfr nobody would be team langdon in the show if they knew the whole story because anyone else would have lost their job and face legal consequences, and he didn't

@TardisStarship No you're not. This has nothing to do with the characters. In reality, Langdon would have been put into a rehab program, not jail, and he would not have lost his license. But keep on keeping on.

@ViscResponse @biiiskarsgrds I'm speaking objective facts though. Stealing/redirecting meds as a doctor means you lose your license and possible jail time. You not liking Santos doesn't change reality.

@tinysons Growing up in a Latino family, you get used to men either going bald by 25 or growing more and more luxurious hair as they get older.

@biiiskarsgrds Stealing meds as a doctor 100% means losing your job and license AND they HAVE to report it to the DEA. People on social media just type stuff and act like reality isn't reality

@Rexeros1 @mohabbotts That was his ego talking. Finding out hours before he's going on sabbatical that the "interim" attending has a way more impressive resume and was consulted re: cyber attack can't have helped his mental health issues.

@mohabbotts Saying "I don't think Dr. Al Hasheemi is up to running this place" while she's getting shit done, being kind, and he's being huuuuuge asshole and crashjng out is...Something else.

@theashleyray There's a reason they're nicknamed zoomers. With boomers dying off some group had to fill their void. Gen X/millennials had to live through their BS.

@Jurassic_Liz @secret_genie_ @joyxvalentine on the show robby says langdon didn’t end up in jail (ik it’s rare irl but in the show’s universe that was the consequence awaiting langdon) bc he didn’t report the stealing or diluting of medicine. langdon simply turned himself in as an addict

@ViscResponse @graydaysahead @kurinohinohi Dawg they told you explicitly TWICE in the last episode that the diversion was not mentioned. Robby’s first instinct was to flush Frank’s pills down the toilet. In reality IF Frank had properly been reported and cleared to return, it would with limited access to narcotics.

do you guys even know addicts irl?? recovering addicts?? it is a REAL worry when an addict is put back into a high stress environment AND still has their trigger (back pain in langdon's case) that they may relapse. it is reality. relapsing is human. santos' worry is human
quinn🙌@langdondefender

i officially dislike santos. i have tried so hard to understand but i can’t after she made that comment about langdon relapsing. some may say i even….hate her

@MattyB187 @KlNGD0N Like, there was a whole multi-season show about a nurse who was an addict and used the pharmacist to get drugs from the hospital. Did no one watch Nurse Jackie?

atp i’m not sure if the show even knows what it’s doing (and/or what’s realistic) when it comes to this plotline, bc why are they trying to make me believe that these intelligent, experienced healthcare professionals never even considered he might have stolen pills from the ed
hailey | pitt spoilers@KlNGD0N

yeah like not to be crass but if they know he was addicted to drugs of any kind why would they assume he’d go out of his way to get them on the street rather than the far more convenient Place He Works At Every Day

@shadowmaster132 @moonshotmoo @KlNGD0N And admin didn't investigate. That's my sticking point because now they're getting into liability issues and no way a hospital isn't reviewing his history and taking an inventory of what he took, regardless of who reported him.

@moonshotmoo @KlNGD0N At least for that I can pretend the pitt universe mandatory reporting rules are just bad. Here I have to pretend that somehow doctors with addiction is still frequent enough to have a program but also drug theft is rare for them not to be very dumb

@consteIlationsx @graydaysahead @kurinohinohi But whether he self-reported or someone else reported him, admin would have investigated. Which is why Robby had Dana do an inventory. No one is "covering up" anything. The writing on this storyline is not true to reality.

@that_tv_girl @Artisticneed After the Abbot copaganda, I think the writers don't have much empathy for Langdon. They created a realistic character dealing with substance issues but have a punitive attitude toward addiction muddling the story cuz they don't want to look like they're punishing the addict.

@Artisticneed yeah the writing for langdon's addiction storyline is so muddled and clearly to suit narrative purposes and not reflective of logic.

@jjJessplane @BabaGan00sh12 @ManicZebra They weren't friends at the time donce it was their first shift together. They're barely civil co-workers after 10 months. Plus, Javadi let her know immediately that she didn't like it. Then in S2e1 she tells Whitaker that friends don't give each other "shitty nicknames."

@skysable3 @samirashooter with Langdon because she's not in the right head space to address why she is a big a part of her difficulties in forming relationships. They didn't show her grab the scalpel for funsies. She's in distress and doesn't know how to ask for help.

@skysable3 @samirashooter I do get it. It's rationalization. She needs a reason for her current difficulties, including potential SH, and if she can have an external reason, Langdon, she doesn't have to address the internal reasons. So she's going to have different answers as to why she has an issue +
