@forthrighter @visakanv I think the weirdness factor has an interesting wrinkle to it Iirc ... they actually TRIED to make it weird, in the early ads! But truly weird people instantly recognized that their pandering, fake weirdness was false- a horrible, uncanny valley, corporate version of "weird"

i can't quite find it from a cursory search but my favorite tweet about the metaverse was that it was doomed to fail because it didn't have a bunch of weird perverts in it and people roleplaying as shapes or inanimate objects etc. you can't kickoff a scene as corporate on day 1

Samsara is projection and everyone around you are dreamlike projections mirroring your state of consciousness so how enlightened you think everyone else is, is a pretty damn good measure for how enlightened you are

meta-pattern I see about how brilliant executives own themselves: they try to be too smart, cover all the angles. They make predictions about the future, suggestions on how to execute. Intent to show they're far-seeing, deeply thoughtful. This backfires: "How" statements over-constrain. Executives get heard like the voice of god by their orgs, and can be heard as dictates rather than suggestions. Execs aren't closest to the problem, and so sometimes even thoughtful "how" comes off as dumb, under-informed (to the ICs). Predictions are generally baseless, and can be used against the executive later when they don't pan out (and they usually don't). Predictions give ammo to political opponents, who quote an executive's words back to them to demonstrate bad judgment or "doesn't get it" Executives are usually at their best when they stick to high-level visioneering. Deep thought isn't theirs to own, that is to be delegated. Otherwise why bother hiring those smart people? Choosing which goals to pursue & why belongs to the execs; literally their job, and hard to naysay. The "how" and prediction/forecasting belongs to the org; literally their job, and they're closer to the real facts. Executives: stop trying to seem so smart and focus on leading. You don't have to be the smartest guy in the room in order to be an inspirational leader.

@viemccoy a new spirituality will be born. imo we are in a 1960s redux. spirituality + consciousness will once again become huge cultural talking points. a new type of human potential movement will likely emerge. it will coincide with radical new theories of consciousness

I think people are desperate for a spirituality that allows them to maintain their sense of sanity, a spark of hope, and encourages them to make sense of artificial intelligence on the level of their souls. I think finding this is the most important task aside from AGI.
