@justddev To reach this numbers there have to be hard paywall at some point. In all my apps I have skippable paywall as a last onboarding step, and then hard paywall after some free usage, so users can see the value of the product. And this is US users of course.

@justddev Paywall view to subscription is not the best metric to track. Look into conversion from the first app launch to: trial and subscription. On iOS, good conversion to trial is around 20%, and to sub ~5%. Could be lower, depending on the niche.

my paywall’s been opened 60+ times in the last 2 days 1 conversion to paid so far curious how you approach this - do you already A/B test paywalls at this stage or is this still way too early to judge anything? trying to figure out when “not enough data” turns into “ok, something’s wrong”

Discovery of the year: There's absolutely no high-quality OCR system out there that reliably parses an input PDF file and converts to Markdown all of the following: 1. Section headings 2. Footnotes 3. Tables 4. Figures 5. Code blocks 6. Equations 7. Bibliography All currently available solutions, including Mistral's OCR, the new hyped DeepSeek OCR (the crappiest one), and Mathpix, produce low-quality output one would be ashamed to print or show to anyone. As a perfectionist, I had to develop my own solution for @ChapterPal, and it's close to perfection. I'm about to replace the third-party OCR solution I've been using on ChapterPal with mine, and I have it available as an API. If for some reason you also need a production-quality OCR for technical and scientific content, reach out to me.

Another gripe with @outrank_so 👇 Outrank is exploiting its customers by inserting a link pointing back to Outrank in every single article. Just Google "Article created using Outrank" They are systematically manufacturing a massive backlink profile by cheating their customers. These are PAYING customers (Outrank does not have a free plan). This is an auto-blogging tool. They know most users won't even care enough to edit their content. So if you're wondering how Outrank achieved its meteoric rise, this is it: exploitation. They don't care that they're setting their customers up for long-term failure. They don't care that they're hurting their customers' brand reputations. They care about growth at all costs. Don't get burned. Avoid this company.

@Dimillian Update > Build > Navigate to relevant screen to see the changes is a bit long cycle for me. Can’t switch to anything else without built in previews or very good hot reload setup.

It feels crazy to me that there's no TypeScript-native, local-first tool for testing LLM-powered apps. So, I'm building one. It's based on Vitest, and it's called Evalite. Here's an early preview.

OpenGraphExamples.com is a tiny directory of open graph image examples. I built and launched it in 24-48 hours, around five months ago. I don't promote it anywhere, but what surprises me is that people keep finding it, submitting examples, and giving feedback. And it just grows on itself. Frankly, I don't know what the commercial value of the project is and if there should be one.
