@CoachFHM Ok maybe I found my answer. Your starting point is anyways an inch or two above the pad. You use the pad more as a “not to exceed” limit rather than fully using it for support throughout the rep

@CoachFHM Curious - why wouldn’t you support your chest completely instead of partially? I find that flushing the top of your chest in line with the pad top ensures much less compression on the ribs at heavy load and deep stretch. Also negates the need for lower back involvement

My favourite upper back exercise. Good old chest supported T-bar. Strap in and row until you can’t row anymore. Simple!

Is there a word you like so much that you look for reasons to use it - even tweaking a sentence just to slip it in? I’ll start: epiphany.

@toro__training The best evidence (SORT A) suggests that 1.2 to 1.5g per KG weight is enough (bulk or cut). (That’s 0.6 to 0.7 per lb). The 1g per lb thumb rule is just Americans not being able to fathom metric units and their poor math skills of not being able to multiply BW in lbs by 0.6/0.7

Making the general statement that you do not need 1g of protein per pound is just as misguided as saying that you do. Protein intake is one of the easiest things to experiment with. If you have never tried it and you are looking for improvements in body composition, performance, energy levels, or recovery, try increasing your intake. Lean meats, fish, eggs and egg whites, and dairy products if you digest them well. Yes there is research supporting 0.6–0.8 for most adults. But what if you do not fall within that group? There is also solid research showing that higher intakes can be beneficial. Maybe you are into that category based on lifestyle, training, individual differences…
Simmo@yoursimmo11

The fitness industry says you need 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. And since "you can't get that from food alone," you need shakes. A 180lb man supposedly needs 180g of protein daily. That's 4 chicken breasts. Completely achievable from food. The 1g/lb number comes from bodybuilding culture, not metabolic science. Research shows 0.6-0.8g/lb is sufficient for muscle maintenance and growth in most adults. The higher number benefits elite athletes in caloric surplus, not stressed executives in their 40s. So you've been choking down industrial dairy waste powder with artificial sweetener twice a day to hit a number you never needed to hit. 3 meals with real protein. Eggs, meat, fish. That's it. Your body doesn't count grams. It counts nutrient density.

Hi @SonyLIV how do you insert multiple ads every 2-3 mins despite me buying a premium plan? What do I have to do to get an ad free experience? Especially while watching standard Sony series?

@OxygenKohlii18 He could bowl this ball (last ball of the day) only because Dravid declared when he was still on 194. This was the turning point of the test match. That declaration was worth it. And I say this as an ardent Sachin fan

Before this innings Sachin Tendulkar said to Moin Khan : "Tumhari wicket to mai he lunga" and then this happened. Probably one of the best googly bowled by anyone. 🔥🥶

@whoistife_x Paused calf press on leg press machine. Especially good if you have bad ankle mobility (which i do). Stretch stimulus is great. I do have skinny calves but I’ve noticed some growth since I’ve introduced them. Accessorise with standing or seated calf raise. 4-6 sets 2x a week.

@ravihanda That just means that there should be tighter norms around all drug misuse, not the other way around. There’s a clear case for misuse of GLP1 drugs for vanity over its specific medical benefits. Similar to testosterone abuse vs genuine TRT

Why is the Indian government cracking down on GLP1 drugs? They should be encouraging it. There are far more harmful drugs easily available at a chemist shop near you.

In most Indian homes soaps are common to all. The last thing the person washed and the first thing the next person washes with the same soap gives me the abolute ick! Indians dont have a concept of dry bathrooms. The soap in the case is melting way, slimy and sticky. Once soaps are small, they are transfered to post potty use. Yuck! All these make soaps extremely unhygienic. Shower gels circumvent all these issues.
Rajvi@rajvishah30

Shower gels were an unnecessary invention, we should’ve stopped at soaps

Such a predictable take from an average carb maxing Indian who has never been taught better about fitness, exercise and some discipline. Celebrating a drug as if it replaces the importance of nutrition and exercise. On the other hand there are gymbros (early adopters of peptides) killing it with tirz/reta while going hard with fitness, health and longevity, using the drug strategically as it should be. Such dhakkan takes!
The Kaipullai@thekaipullai

None of the people in the fitness industry ever thought in their wildest imagination that they would be upended by nerdy chemists & doctorates, huddled around computers, who would design a pill that does what they did, better than them, faster than them and now cheaper than them

Hey @makemytrip ,My flight ID NF7AJTML85997124347 got cancelled by the airline but I’m unable to file a refund claim because the app reflects an incorrect option implying I had canceled the flight with the airline instead of the other way around. In-app help unavailable

@karandotg @ABiggerSpalash Most sensible take on GLP-1 I’ve read so far. I hope this becomes the norm and these drugs are used as a gateway to a better overall lifestyle than making your life dependent on it

@ABiggerSpalash There's a place for these things. If you're drastically overweight, they can be a useful tool to power through the initial weight loss, before you slowly wean off them and transition to more organic, lifestyle-driven weight loss and fitness for sustainability.

My bear case against GLP-1 is that being ravenously hungry and eating food is one of life's greatest pleasures. I work out precisely so I can eat the food I love, guilt-free. Dosing GLP-1 to become thin is like giving up sex to become sexually attractive.

@mufc_mitron @baxirahul And I’m saying this from personal experience. I was 18kg overweight. Of course it took me 12-15 months to shed it. But it has developed a habit of eating clean 90% of the times and going to gym regularly. Long term, this lifestyle is much more beneficial than depending on drugs.

In 2 days the patent for Semaglutide in India expires. It’s a GLP1 receptor agonist. That’s the molecule behind some very popular drugs for weight loss and diabetes. This could be a major turning point for diabetes and obesity treatment in India. 1/n
