Well if more free users move to Google, that would be less burden for OpenAI. OpenAI would lose some customers yes, but serving free users is expensive indeed. Only Google has the deep pockets from ads/subscription/cloud revenue elsewhere to support so much computation spending.

@ns123abc Google pairing with Apple was the key. Scaling without crazy server builds requires a hybrid approach where mini models will be on the phone with tough questions going to the server. OpenAI’s one way out of CAPEX hell has been blocked.
