If the UK exists post AGI it'll be thanks to Demis deciding to stay in London.

AI companies have leased more than 1 MILLION square feet of office space in London since the start of 2025. More than half of the leases have come this month alone. Unsurprisingly leases in King's Cross constitute over 60% of the 1 million square feet. OpenAI and Anthropic have both announced expansions in London, with Jeff Bezos' AI lab also looking to expand here. Home grown AI companies have also been expanding - both @synthesiaIO and @attio recently moved into larger offices. It's been clear to anyone in tech that London AI is really having a moment, but it's great to see it in data. Full @Bloomberg article linked below.

@theandreboso @0bytematt Its not being in the EU that allows tech to succeed.. Look at the AI legislation, look at the fintec regulation, etc etc.

I was wondering what are the best tech cities in Europe right now. Based on what I see online I’d probably say Stockholm, Paris and…? Where is the cool stuff happening right now? I really hope to see a future when people don’t feel the need to move to the US.
