400 interviews in crypto gave me a data set almost nobody else has The candidates I've interviewed from Southeast Asia almost always undersell. Real skills, often more than their peers, presented with half the confidence. The candidates from Western CT almost always do the opposite. Strong entry, impressive positioning, thin track record underneath. Both groups are an ideal hire. The hit rate from the first group is meaningfully higher. Most crypto hiring managers are Western, and they're unconsciously running a confidence filter that has nothing to do with capability. Cultural modesty in an interview tells you nothing about whether someone can execute. We keep conflating the two. The best hires I've made didn't get the job because they were impressive in the room. They got it because something in their background was impossible to fabricate. That gap, between how someone presents and what they've actually done, is the most expensive mistake in crypto hiring. And it's almost entirely invisible to the people making the decisions.

As a marketer, using AI agents to run my actual workflow was a proper eureka moment. Started with @openclaw, ended up at an IRL meetup at @encodeclub. Now watching what @steipete builds next 👀

me and @theokitsberg were yapping furiously about talent aquisition and recruitment when we started to realise that the people both in front and behind us were also talking about ai startups. “what are you building” says the guy in front. he turned out to be @noahhorner_ working on marketing agents. it matters where you are: move to london - it will change your life.

The hiring just doesn't stop > @a16z hiring YT-native/media talents > @join_ef hiring someone to own the New Media > @base hiring social leads/other roles > @DefiLlama hiring DeFi podcaster > @BioProtocol hiring science writers Storytellers = most sought after commodity rn
0xJeff@0xJeff

Have a feeling that we might be in for the start of something > Layoffs due to AI while companies hire people to supervise/improve AI > 20+ AI startups who recently raised, are all hiring > At least 20-30 companies in Web3 are hiring > Most look for engineers, growth/devrel, social media/marketing > This is not limited to startups btw. Even VCs are hiring storytellers to expand their presence, following the playbook of @a16z And the coolest thing is.... it's not just happening in SF/NYC It's happening all over the world.

Just reflecting on the last few months of interviews; the whole process can really mess with your head Especially this season Lots of companies are plainly searching for tradfi bros that want to convert to crypto The talent pool on the crypto side is still pretty rich too, I know a ton of really skilled people struggling to find work All in all, it’s just a tough time There are still teams who will find value in the organic skills you’ve built here, you just need to dig deep to find them My tip: find legacy companies who still value in crypto native employees Or Find traditional web2 companies searching out crypto fluent people It isn’t easy, I submitted over 200 applications in the last 3 months in order to find my fit And as always, use all the connections you have, there is no shame in this grind. No one has ever gotten anywhere by sitting silent I’ll write up a full article on my experience soon

There's a physicist at Stanford named Safi Bahcall who modeled this exact principle and the math is wild. He calls it "phase transitions in human networks." When you're stationary, your probability of a lucky event is limited to your existing surface area: the people you already know, the places you already go, the ideas you've already been exposed to. Your opportunity window is fixed. When you move, your collision rate with new nodes in a network increases nonlinearly. Double your movement (new conversations, new cities, new projects) and your probability of a serendipitous encounter doesn't double. It roughly quadruples. Because each new node connects you to their entire network, not just to them. Richard Wiseman ran a 10-year study at the University of Hertfordshire tracking self-described "lucky" and "unlucky" people. The single biggest differentiator wasn't IQ, education, or family money. Lucky people scored significantly higher on one trait: openness to experience. They talked to strangers more, varied their routines more, and said yes to invitations at nearly twice the rate. The "unlucky" group followed the same routes, ate at the same restaurants, and talked to the same 5 people. Their networks were closed loops. No new inputs, no new collisions. Luck isn't random. Luck is surface area. And surface area is a function of movement. The lobster emoji is doing more work than most people realize. Lobsters grow by shedding their shell when it gets too tight. The growth requires a period of total vulnerability. No protection, no armor, soft body exposed to the ocean. That's the cost of movement nobody posts about. You have to be uncomfortable first. The new shell only hardens after you've already moved.

cool story: i was down to my last $4000 back in 2024 (very bad turn of events and investments) that’s also the year i decided to go to Token Singapore nobody knew that, except for me out of that $4000 i used over $2k on that trip it was a huge risk considering my capital at that very moment but i took it and guess what? it’s been up only since then all because i went out of my comfort zone, expanded my network and did what majority of people would tell you is insanely dumb but you can’t expect to win in life unless you take action yourself, that being said i did work hard and am planning to work even harder events CAN be +EV if you take action, don’t spend your capital if you’re gonna do nothing to prove that spent capital a good ROI in return

THE DRAMA asks if love can truly survive without absolute acceptance. It deconstructs this question with shock value, lacking the depth it needs to really work, as it looks at a relationship on the brink just days before the wedding. Pattinson is excellent as Charlie, spiraling into a frantic, overthinking obsession that’s rendered through jarring, rhythmic editing & hallucinatory visuals that pull us directly into his fracturing psyche. Zendaya delivers a haunting performance as Emma, challenging the audience’s own capacity for acceptance. It’s a bold reminder that unconditional acceptance is a myth & that love needs both growth and change. #TheDrama #A24 #FilmTwitter

my friend spends ~10L a month and it genuinely messes with my head a bit not in a weird way, i’m not judging it, i just can’t fully wrap my head around it we were talking about credit cards and i asked his monthly spend so i could suggest something useful, and he just casually said it i already knew he makes a couple of crores a year, 3–4 yoe, remote, SF company, all that but hearing income is one thing, hearing how it actually gets spent is different that’s where my brain kind of paused i tried to think it through… rent, travel, food, random stuff, lifestyle… and i still couldn’t fully map it not because it’s crazy, just because i’ve never been close enough to that kind of life to understand it properly and that’s what stood out to me a lot of us aren’t lacking skill or potential, we’re just playing inside a very small frame you don’t even realise what’s possible, so you don’t aim for it either no big conclusion here, just something that made me think there are levels to this, and most of us are way earlier in the game than we think
