Great operators don't move faster than everyone else.
They've already decided the things that slow everyone else down.
The advantage isn't reaction time.
It's the absence of recurring deliberation.
Every time a team relitigates a decision, they burn time they already spent once.
The goal isn't to move fast. It's to make most of the work not require speed at all.

"The winner of the AI race will not be the company with the smartest model.
It will be the company that is most effective at making the local hero—the teacher, the accountant, the community leader—ten times more powerful.
Because in the end, intelligence travels through systems, but adoption travels through people."

the term “hackathon” for @colosseum is a bit misleading.
it’s closer to a startup competition.
reframe it: colosseum is a venture fund that runs two cohorts a year, investing in and accelerating the strongest teams.
don’t approach it like a weekend sprint where the goal is just to win a track.
build like you’re submitting a real company. something sustainable.
something that generates revenue.

If you can't name the category you're creating, you're not creating one.
You're building a feature with a landing page.
Category creation isn't a marketing exercise.
It's a commitment to naming the problem before anyone else has named it.
It means educating the buyer on why the old frame was wrong.
That takes a point of view, not just a product.
Most startups skip this because it can't be A/B tested.
The ones who do it own the market. The ones who don't become someone else's feature set.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev's hot take about jobs in the AI era:
"There will be more software engineers in 10 years than there are today, and there will be more lawyers."
"It's going to become much easier to start a venture and run it autonomously."
"You'll be a software engineer, de facto. You've got your Claude Code agents writing code for you."
"There will be more businesses."
"The need for the legal profession actually scales with business activity."
"If you have a million businesses incremental per year, each of those is going to need legal support."

Balaji Srinivasan on taking the L to set up for the W:
"Before Satya Nadella took over Microsoft, it was losing on mobile to iOS and Android."
"He took the L... and he said, 'You know what? Linux is there. Linux is not going to go away.'"
"We're going to run Linux on Microsoft hardware."
"Mobile is not going away and nobody's installing the Microsoft mobile OS."
"So we're going to allow Word and PowerPoint and Excel to run on iOS and Android devices."
"And... the browser isn't going away. So we're going to make Office 365 work in the cloud."
"Because he took the L, Satya set Microsoft up for the W."
