Value accrual vs Credible neutrality Either Ethereum is a public good. Or a rent-seeking intermediary. No value accrual in the former. No credible neutrality in the latter. The only way to square the circle: Ethereum fees near zero, and ETH is programmable money. Glad that’s where we are trending!

@drjasper_eth That's crazy it's so low! I hadn't looked at this in a long time. Probably came down during restaking bonanza last year?

Appreciate the effort here but in this case, you are conflating maximalism of values with maximalism of chains. The reason "ETH maxis" don't just change position on a whim is because they are driven by principles of the tech, not the circumstances. You seem to completely miss this, or just not share in the principles at all, which is fine. But you cannot fault others for being steadfast in principle, or begrudge them for not playing loose with what they consider is of value. If some new tech came out tomorrow that was a better solution to optimize for economic freedom for the common man, Id happily go that direction, and I know many other "ETH maxis" would as well. You are either really missing it, or not addressing the true critique, just my perspective.

My dad had a massive heart attack. The pump in your chest is infinitely more valuable than any pump in the charts. But ima need ETH to 10x so I can pay these medical bills.

Proud of this little guy for proposing his 100th block recently after making the leap to solo staking 2 years ago. No data center required 😎. The best part about getting involved was experiencing firsthand how genuine the Ethereum community is. As a non dev it felt a little intimidating getting everything set up, but there were so many individuals that helped me troubleshoot or answered tons of questions without asking for anything in return. So if you’ve ever wanted to participate but had any reservations about doing so, know that there are now tons of resources and options that make staking from home easy that don’t require 32 ETH! Crypto X really gives off the impression that almost everyone is only here to extract on the latest VC grift, farm airdrops, gamble on memecoins, or bet on the latest number go up coin. The Ethereum community seems to be the only exception that still prioritizes cypherpunk values and decentralization above all else. No other network has thousands of individuals running validators from home to support decentralization, even when it’d be more convenient and profitable for them to just use a staking service (solo stakers usually have a lower APY since they won’t have enough ETH to propose blocks frequently). Ethereum’s strength has always been its genuine community of developers, home stakers, and supporters that believe in more than just making money. I believe if blockchain tech has any realistic chance of positively transforming the world then it will be Ethereum.

Fun fact: Ethereum is by far the most decentralized turing complete blockchain. There are currently 3,400 validator nodes hosted on residential connections. A ~77% increase from 1,900 in just 3 months. These home stakers make up nearly 40% of Ethereum's validator set. A permissionless network where anyone can join the validator set on affordable hardware. Whereas every other Ethereum competitor relies on a small group of validators hosted on enterprise grade hardware, data centers, or cloud providers. The Ethereum community has always prioritized decentralization, and multiple protocols were developed to reduce the cost and increase accessibility for anyone interested. For example using distributed validator tech via @Obol_Collective & @ssv_network, running a @Rocket_Pool validator with only 8 ETH, or a @LidoFinance CSM validator with only 2.4 ETH. No other chain comes close to Ethereum's commitment to decentralization, and entities that value it will continue to build on Ethereum.

hot take the reason ethereum became the top smart contract chain was simple: it attracted the best devs and researchers and the reason it attracted the best devs and researchers was also simple: its values as an infinite garden to trash that for cringe edgelord nfts is insane

For years, I heard people complain that @Rocket_Pool wasn't aligned enough to offer deep decentralization to the Ethereum beacon chain because it required an additional stake in RPL. That requirement is gone. 8 Ether, 0 RPL minipools are here. join us.

ATTENTION @Rocket_Pool NODE OPERATORS: The recent #Houston upgrade has ushered in onchain voting for the $RPL pDAO. This means you MUST “initialize” your node and optionally delegate your voting power. ~2,000 nodes still need to do this!! 1/4
