Today marks the end of my time at @HerodotusDev. It’s been a wild ride, learned a ton, built cool stuff, and had the privilege of working with some amazing people. Special shoutout to @0xmarcello, @bartolomeo_diaz and @0xpiapark and all the other chads from Herodotus

🚨 @chainlink oracles can get you liquidated?! ⚡️ After the Hyperliquid $XPL perp exploded 200% in minutes, I dug into how ETH/USD oracles behave during volatility. I pulled ~20k data points on mainnet. The results might surprise you 👇1/7

@CamutoDante @HerodotusDev solves this by providing cryptographically sound inputs from on-chain data to ZK systems. And you don’t need to rely on any oracle either.

Zero-knowledge systems face a fundamental vulnerability: while they can prove computations were done correctly, they can't always verify if the input data itself is legitimate. Let's call this "the garbage in garbage out" problem.

@PaulRBerg What's the rationale behind the tip part? Are you placing yourself ahead of the competition on the upcoming AI bribes market?

In text form if you want to copy-paste it: - Will tip $500 - Restrict answers to macOS (I use neither Windows nor Linux) - Discuss safety only when it's crucial and non-obvious - Format your answer in a clear and readable way. If you don't know the answer, say so - If you are using mathematical equations, format them in LaTeX - No need to disclose you're an AI - No yapping, answer briefly, but do include all the important information - When I ask you medical questions, don't say that you're not a doctor and don’t say that I should consult one

Had a blast with @0xcodyx at the @ETHGlobal Hackathon in Brussels! Learned so much about ZK proofs and LayerZero v2 tech, leveraging @RiscZero for off-chain computation. Big thanks to the sponsors and organizers for this amazing event. Can’t wait for the next one! 🚀
LayerZero Foundation@LayerZero_Fndn

The @ETHGlobal Hackathon in Brussels showcased an impressive array of talented developers. Hackathon participants created 20+ omnichain applications on LayerZero. Below are the standout projects from the event. 1st Place: SyncSafe SyncSafe is an omnichain multisig safe module with unified addresses and synchronized states across all supported chains. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/syncs… @pybasteth @xmsrgt @_maxencerb 2nd Place: Liqu1tent Liqu1tent is an omnichain intents bridge that uses LayerZero to settle and return the locked funds to the solvers for successful fills. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/liqu1… @1DeltaDAO @JararMalik @daniel_de_witte @k_schellinger Honorable Mentions • _lzLend() is a P2P cross-chain lending protocol with an aggregated cross-chain oracle. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/lzlen… @thisisaaly @mattiapomelli • Integrum Swap is an omnichain dex that combines the best of an AMM and Coincidence of Wants. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/integ… @dappcoder @Alexhandru @AndreDev_ @catalin_balut • Nounocle is AI powered Glasses using galadriel and Tiny ML, and uses LayerZero for omnichain deployment of its governance contract. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/nouno… @Juanforthemoney • Lisan uses LayerZero to send block hashes between chains and allows others to create ZK proofs to recreate and evaluate a remote chains state. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/lisan… @0xbenhooper • Captain Hooks Markets is a cross-chain perps market that uses ERC20 tokens wrapped as Omnichain Fungible Tokens (OFTs) for their pool assets. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/capta… @lajos_deme • Penny Proofs enables developers to verify more ZK compute at a lower cost as it leverages off-chain computation and LayerZero for proof verification interoperability. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/penny… @0xcodyx @sensoyard • EEZY uses LayerZero to let users interact with multiple blockchains and access Coinbase funds from a Base Smart Wallet with Magic Spend, without switching chains or bridging funds. Link: ethglobal.com/showcase/eezy-… @luduvigo @0xreekee Full list of projects: ethglobal.com/events/brussel… Lastly, we wanted to give a big shoutout to @EthGlobal for putting together this amazing event! We look forward to seeing more novel use cases of LayerZero at future hackathons.

Just published an article about Length Extension Attacks. When I first found out about this attack, I was shocked by the fact that it can affect very commonly used hash functions (like SHA-256), and yet it doesn't seem to be very well known. tiagofneto.com/posts/length-e…

1/ I was tired of Etherscan not displaying all the data I needed, often having to use other tools or even compute some things manually (RLP, I'm looking at you). So, I built 'Betherscan', an open source Chrome extension (link below) that adds more data to Etherscan. 🧵👇

After 1.5 years working at @HerodotusDev, I've decided it's the right time to move on and focus on solving new problems. I'm really grateful for everything I've learned, and I want to shout out a big thank you to @0xmarcello and @kacperkozi for letting me have the freedom to explore so many different things. As to what I'm doing next, for the next couple of months I'll focus on prototyping a bunch of ideas I've been sitting on (and perhaps building one of them further if it particularly passionates me and there is demand for it), putting articles/content out and improving my personal branding. I realized by speaking with multiple people that I have quite a few things worth sharing (both technical and non technical) and that I never really took the time to do so. For now, I'm taking some days to touch some grass, gain mental clarity, and plan out my next arc. More than ever, I'm bullish on humanity, technology and the future in general.

With a good night's sleep, all things are achievable. Yet, many individuals miscalculate their sleep duration—it should factor in sleep efficiency too. For instance, to gain 8 hours of *actual* sleep, I require a total sleep of 9 hours. Science seems to indicate that ideal duration varies according to one's genes.

Agreed, IMO focusing on scaling solutions and upcoming innovations in the ecosystem is a more effective approach to reducing transaction costs, rather than resorting to minor gas optimizations that may hinder the readability and accessibility of transaction history as logs are *integral* parts of block data. Relying on external tools also significantly increases the complexity of building additional tooling on top of raw data.

I strongly disagree, It’s true that events have been too expensive for too long, and indexed off chain anyway, But as @abdelstark once explained to me, the power of objects of this nature is that you have the ability to opt off of centralised off chain service and do it yourself id argue against a situation where it’s extremely hard to revert back or out of a chosen non standard solution logs are bad but they are the standard hopefully they can be revamped in time, I know there are several EIPs in the pipeline for that (lower cost, easier indexing)

Pretty amazed that this is a controversial take. Of course. Yes. Take the events out. Use offchain solutions I can hear the "JSON/HTTP won against more efficient encoding" argument but it's because it was easier to use. Events are a crutch for blockchain storage being unsustainable and expensive There's so few dapps live and so few users that it makes sense to change the standard while we can If we were talking about *millions* of people using dapps that actively rely on events, the argument would be different. But we're just not there
Hayden Adams 🦄@haydenzadams

Is it worth removing events and moving to calltraces for Uniswap v4 for 1% gas savings on all swaps?

As obvious tips are not always obvious practice, this year I realized that nutrition is one of the most important aspects of any sort of human optimization. Done right, it can help lift brain fog, enhance longevity and overall well-being while improving physical appareance too! I made the mistake of focusing on external tools (vitamins, biohacking, exercising etc). while neglecting to optimize my food intakes. Counting calories or fat % is *NOT* how to do it though (unless on a weight-loss diet *maybe*). Knowing how my body reacts to glucose was a game-changer for me. CGMs are underrated.
