Slight update on what I think is going to happen over the next 6-8 months. I've been a bear for most of this year and I'm still a bear.
I think retail is broke and is struggling to afford the basics atm. Layoffs are accelerating, tariffs are drastically slowing down the economy, and I believe we are in a debt bubble. This means that sales will be sluggish throughout and we will be entering into a global recession, while inflation remains high due to tariffs. We call that stagflation.
That's why crypto is down is because people need all the liquidity they can get their hands on. Work still needs to be done in getting crypto aligned with the hard money thesis and it looks like it won't happen this cycle. Maybe the next one?
And I haven't even talked about the AI bubble, which is real. Tech is good, just like during the last Internet bubble of the 2000s, but valuations are not proportional to the current reality. A market correction is needed but the winners will do just fine, just like Amazon did in the last one.
Overall I believe crypto will be on sale and some wonderful buying opportunities will present themselves over the next little while. Be patient, and keep your eyes open.

Yet another industry affected>
Half of Dutch fleet idle as European fishing hit by high diesel prices
The fishing industry is emerging as an early European casualty of soaring diesel costs amid the Iran war, with at least half the Dutch fleet staying in port this week, according to industry representatives.
The pressure is most acute in the Netherlands because of an outsized number of beam trawlers in its fleet, which makes up about 7% of the European Union's total.
These ships target high-value North Sea flatfish such as sole, turbot and brill, but burn relatively large amounts of fuel. Industry group VisNed said 80% to 90% of such trawlers did not sail out this week.
Now the fuel bill is equal to the revenue, so it simply does not work,” he said. (Reuters)

I hate to be bearish but
- You have 4 companies out of the Mag 7 that now hold more debt in depreciating assets (E.g. Datacenters) than cash in their balance sheets.
- More spending on these datacenters that are expected to increase until 2028-2030.
- Record breaking IPOs coming to the market in already tight liquidity environment.
- Labor market that is in full stagnation.
- A Fed that doesn’t have the leeway to cut rates anymore like they did in recent years.
- Price discovery mostly being done in private markets now.
- Hyperscalar bond issuance driving more liquidity away from equity markets.
- A war that introduces more uncertainty in an already uncertain market environment.
While the S&P still trades at a higher premium over its historical average.
