This is Chirag Madaan, an IIT graduate working as a corporate banker in Delhi, earning around ₹17 lakh per year. Despite what many would consider a strong salary, Chirag recently shared in an Instagram video that he has decided to quit his job.
He described a work life that feels overwhelming and unsustainable. His typical day runs from 9 AM to 7 PM, and even Sundays are not off. According to him, leaves are not granted easily, even during illness, and he gets barely 15 minutes for lunch. On top of that, there is constant pressure to meet high targets, leaving him with almost no time for himself or his family.
Over time, this routine has started affecting his sleep and mental health. Chirag says that money loses its value when it comes at the cost of peace, health, and personal life. For him, no salary is worth that trade-off.
His story raises a broader question: is this kind of work culture becoming too common, and is the private sector pushing people toward burnout?

@swipeyield Everyone who had posted saying M4B Is the og and everyone should get it , should remove the videos out of respect for the loss of the card 👀

Axis 🤝 Accor is history. Sentiment won’t book your next business class seat, strategy will.
If you’re pivoting your spend, the HSBC Travel One is the most logical successor to anchor your 2026 travel portfolio.
Why it’s the new "Meta":
* 1:1 Transfer Ratio: No "devaluation math" or tiered ratios. What you earn is what you get across Marriott, Accor, Taj, and 20+ global partners.
* The Velocity Advantage: Point transfers are instant. In the world of vanishing award seats, waiting 7 days for a transfer is a dealbreaker.
* Broadest Ecosystem: Access to 5 hotel groups and 15+ airlines (including Singapore Air, Etihad, and Qatar).
The era of one-bank dominance is over. Diversify into a card that respects your points and your time. 💳✈️

@akshat_money That’s why lounge benefits and changes in forex mark up are informed 30 days prior , but getting this to be classified under the same is definitively a grey area as 1:2 is supposed to be standard even to new partners , people can blindly transfer to avios in 1:2
English

This is a grey area.
RBI requires 30-day notice for changes to embedded benefits (value proposition/fixed benefits).
Reward redemption hasn’t traditionally been treated under fixed benefits — so no strict notice needed.
But sudden removal of a rewards partner materially impacts perceived value. 💔
Seeing this from a large bank is new.🫢
Could push RBI to bring reward redemption under the 30-day notice rule.

@TravelBluez @ccg33k The anger is it wasn’t informed, the anger is not that it was done .

The backlash against recent devaluations (like Axis Bank) reveals a deeper systemic issue:
The Entitlement Trap.
1️⃣ For over a decade now, private equity funded our lifestyles (Uber, Ola, Swiggy etc etc). Huge discounts, instant refunds and insane rewards were the norm because startups prioritized growth over profit. Banks were chasing customers in a severely under-penetrated Indian market.
2️⃣ Now, the "free lunch" is over. Banks and startups are being forced to actually... make money.
3️⃣ Take credit cards: If a bank earns 1-1.5% from a merchant, giving you 14% back is a massive loss. Expecting that to last forever isn't just optimistic; it’s economically impossible. Add to it, their rumoured cost of buying Accor points at >Rs 2 each and you are looking at a free ration scheme for the rich!
4️⃣ When we "sue" or attack MDs for fixing unsustainable promos, we aren't protecting consumers - we're killing the ecosystem. Profits aren't evil; they're the reason the service exists in the first place.
5️⃣ Don't get me wrong: consumer rage is 100% justified when there are genuine wrongs. If a company commits fraud, hides fees or breaks the rules, absolutely take them to task. Even we crib and complain - but there has to be a logical explanation to demand our right, while understanding the other's perspective too.
6️⃣ But throwing a tantrum and threatening legal action because a bank legally updated their transfer partners to stop bleeding cash? That’s entitlement, not justice.
7️⃣ It has spilled into everything. We now see people demanding free hotel stays, comped meals or free products for minor goof-ups, acting like it's their fundamental right. A small, honest mistake by a company is not a winning lottery ticket.
Time for a reality check on what sustainable product/service actually looks like.
No profit = Business dies = Product/Service dies.
Not asking you to overpay but know the math.
P.S. We posting this saintly gyaan has nothing to do with us posting memes on the deval, for fun 😛
