@eli_schein The guy literally has Milady as his cover; he doesn't owe anything to artists or need to care about art. If anything, it's the opposite

NFTs could have worked out if people actually wanted to own them instead of flipping them. i never spent a splashy amount of money on NFTs but steadily bought lower priced work from artists who i like and wanted to support and own something from and never sold anything. what serious artist wants their work to be traded by mouth breathers foaming about floor prices who couldn’t give a single shit about art? i find it ironic that this new breed of shills are doing the whole “this trad artist who sells million dollar paintings has an NFT series from 2022 that’s only $39! aRbItRaGe!!!!” while at the same time perpetuating the gauche flipper bullshit that crowds out any possibility of any of these artists with the bona fides they revere so much ever minting work again. at the very least accept that you’re a glorified memecoin trader and not an art collector and stop talking out of both sides of your mouth

@RTFnfa @WaitHopeFound Leading with authenticity, curiosity, and positivity is always the best path forward. That will bring the light back to the space eventually. The internet is the canvas. Cheers

I’ve always enjoyed your work.
And the sentiment is on-point for a majority of it. There’s fewer, far in-between authentic or aligned people here. And the algo tweaks and changes makes it maddening too.
That said, connecting with the @WaitHopeFound team, along with the artists they’ve connected has been a personal shift for me. Helped me find others that are here for the right reasons - building for life as opposed to a mint or fleeting fame.
I’m hoping that a meaningful connection or perhaps a chance to work with an artist there or experience a residency - just something - can help shift this back into meaning and utility.
It’s hard.

My account here has been centered around crypto art for a while now.
Lately, I’ve been questioning whether to delete it and focus entirely on my other account, which feels more aligned with where I’m at now, or keep this one going for a specific audience.
The truth is, I’ve grown tired of the crypto art space. Not the technology, but the people. The lack of authenticity, the absence of real human support unless there’s financial upside, and the low creative bar that rarely pushes culture forward.
Even at some of the biggest in-person events, I’ve met fewer than a handful of people I found genuinely interesting.
I still believe in the technology. But right now, it doesn’t feel like there are enough real, grounded humans in the space to build an actual culture around it. Ironically, it feels like AI will drive its importance more than the people involved.
That said, I create every day. That hasn’t changed. I’m an artist at my core, regardless of trends or markets. I don’t create for money, and I never have. It’s something I have to do.
Interestingly, Instagram has re-emerged over the past year as a central place for art and, more importantly, for real conversations between people.
I do hope the crypto art world figures itself out. Because a lot of what people criticized about the traditional art world has shown up here, just in a more extreme form.

@chilltulpa asking internet users to care. and sharing all the reasons they should. craft only matters in face to face. we would live in a different world if humans actually supported humans on the internet

@tokenfox1 @hanrgb @VanArman Sounds like a good opportunity to set up a single page with line items of each expense you have. And let the users fund everything if they find value in it.

Meanwhile onchainchecker.xyz will now enter an expiration grace period. It will stop working completely around the end of this month, if no other resolution is reached

@redbeardnft all the engineers who suddenly started calling themselves artists have proven the point. Now the agents are putting their masks back on, while the real artists watch the same shenanigans that have historically been in play.
