There has been an appalling attack on two Jewish Londoners in Golders Green. The police have made an arrest and I’d like to thank all the emergency services and heroic volunteers from @Hatzola @ShomrimLondon in the area for their swift response to this horrific incident. I’m in close contact with the @MetPoliceUK, who will be providing further updates. London’s Jewish community have been the target of a series of shocking antisemitic attacks. There must be absolutely no place for antisemitism in society. The Met have stepped up high visibility patrols in the area. I urge anyone who has any information to call police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

Today is Stephen Lawrence Day. Stephen’s future was taken from him by racists. Tomorrow is St George's Day, a reminder that we cannot allow right-wing populists to co-opt our national identity in service of their racism. This year, we honour Stephen’s memory by investing in youth services and our young people, so every young person has the foundations for their future. @sldayfdn

Today, we remember Stephen Lawrence and honour his memory. His legacy - the fight for justice that followed - changed our country for the better. We must continue that work by standing up to racism and striving for a city where everyone is treated with fairness and dignity.

Today, April 22 is Stephen Lawrence Day.🖤 33 years ago in 1993, Stephen at just 18 years was stabbed to death in a racist attack in Eltham, south east London. 🙏🏾 Today, we reflect on this death but more importantly we stand with his family and the Stephen Lawrence foundation to help build in his name for future generations.
