I've been militantly Howe Out since the derby was the final straw for me. But if it's between Eddie Howe or Mourinho i'd be offering Eddie an extension. This would be the destructive move that starts us off becoming a new manager every 5 minutes team.

Eddie Howe remains the best manager for Newcastle United and deserves the chance to rebuild the squad in the summer with a proper support structure in place. If he leaves in the summer, I believe the club will regret it. Probably swiftly and for a long time. This is my opinion. I have covered the club for 23 years. I watch them pretty much every week and nothing that happens between now and the end of May will change my mind. It’s fine to disagree. I’ve seen a few comments about where I’m from recently and the fact I’m not a fan. Like that prevents me from having an opinion on a club it is my job to cover and has been for more than two decades. This is my professional opinion as a football journalist. Lots of you will disagree with it. But I also know many of you agree with me because I speak to people all the time and don’t spend my entire day on here. Opinions vary, that’s absolutely fine #nufc

Incredibly that is the 11th goal #nufc have conceded in stoppage time this season. It's cost them 6 PL points (which, if they'd not lost, would have seen them 7th) and a Champions League win against Barcelona. That suggests a weakness in mentality that needs to be addressed this summer. Significant, damaging loss today

Genuinely sad seeing the situation at Newcastle. I’ve loved Howe as manager. Brought times we will never forget and with the highest level of professionalism and conduct as leader of the club. I understand wanting change but I don’t like the anger and disrespect towards Howe. I feel like it’s more against the club for not making a decision earlier for some people, which is fine. But let’s try to keep it respectful whilst giving your view on Howe’s position. Club should know by Arsenal what they want to do regardless of results and I finally want them to be decisive whatever the decision. If a new manager comes in, there is a chance that we go through tough times before it gets good again. Just look at Man United, Spurs etc. #NUFC

TV pundits will have their say on #NUFC and what should happen next. But they don't watch Newcastle every week, they are chiming in as per a TV broadcast schedule. Sit on a train on the way back from an away match and you will get a real reflection on what fans think. It's not even so much complaints, it's concern at throwing away leads, baffling substitutions/selection and the lack of a Plan B. The same mistakes keep unfolding and 14 Premier League losses and 14th place after a £220m + spend is louder than the opinion of anybody. Fans will always be grateful to Eddie Howe and the respect is still there. But what is the plan moving forward? Newcastle still have some very talented players but that was a strange display at Selhurst Park. At the minute it just looks like we're muddling through.

On Woltemade/Wissa... I come back to, "managers don't pick teams, players do". Howe sees far more than any of us in training. He is picking the best team to win a game, of course he is. He referenced Osula training well when asked about Woltemade/Wissa absence - what does that tell you? It's not on Howe to pick them because they cost a lot of money, it's on any player to make himself selectable ahead of rivals in his position. Yes, he signed them last summer (albeit panicked & for inflated fees in final week) but a manager is allowed to change their mind based on what he sees. If Woltemade/Wissa want to play, it's on them.

No Woltemade or Wissa, who continue to be 3/4th choice strikers. Thoughts? For me, that's a strong XI & Osula as striker allows the team to play as Howe wants them to.
