As I wake this morning, I read the news that Hurricane Melissa is a Cat 5 bearing down on Jamaica. In Aug of 1992, I remember being in the path of Cat 5, Hurricane Andrew but it swerved south and spared my town of Hollywood, FL. Seeing the aftermath was incredible. The more I read the Bible, the more I think about it. The more I think about it, the more I live it. The more I live it, the more joyous and peaceful I am. And the more joyous and peaceful that I am, the more I can love those around me. The more I love those around me, the better their lives are, and mine too. The more I read the Bible, the sharper, my discernment gets. The deeper my anchor settles into the firm foundation, the cornerstone that is Jesus Christ. The thicker my biblical lenses become, the more deception I can recognize and steer clear of. I’m praising God for the Word today.
