🧭 "Spain’s ability to produce the bloc’s cheapest renewable energy is no longer a local success story but a geopolitical challenge to traditional Franco-German hegemony." My European Compass points towards renewables. agendapublica.es/noticia/20975/…

This is a book of interviews that an oral historian did with ordinary Russians in Moscow in 1990. He found this “babushka” sitting on a bench outside her apartment building. She was born in 1912 in a small rural village. Her life spanned the full arc of the Soviet Union.

Tucker has ruined Vance’s career.

BREAKING: @FoxNews has obtained a photo of the Austin, TX mass shooter, armed & wearing a sweater that says “Property of Allah”. He has not been identified by authorities, but multiple federal law enforcement sources tell FOX he is a 53-year-old naturalized US citizen who was born in Senegal and was living in Pflugerville, TX. I am told he was also wearing an undershirt that had an Iranian flag on it.

This represents 40-50% of the deployable US air power in the world. Think air power on the order of the 1991 and 2003 Iraq war. And growing. Never has the US deployed this much force against a potential enemy and not launched strikes.

There is a point in the future that I call the "traumatic distance" where, if you were teleported there, walked around for five minutes, and then returned, you would come back deeply disturbed, maybe even psychologically fractured not because it is dystopian, but because it is ontologically alien. Like a knight from 1400 dropped into Times Square on New Year's Eve In antiquity, the traumatic distance was way over 1000 years. Someone from ancient Rome would be mildly impressed by London in the 1500s, but would still recognize the grammar of reality and adapt within days, even after a millennium. But someone from London in the 1500s arriving in the year 2000 would likely panic, convinced he had fallen into hell: deafening mechanical roars, multi-ton metal creatures in motion, faces and fabrics and gestures unrecognizable, vertical excess everywhere. Today, I would estimate the traumatic distance to be far shorter, maybe 30 years. If one of us were teleported to 2056 and then brought back, I suspect we would struggle to translate the experience into language at all. It would not feel like science fiction. It would feel cognitively destabilizing, intimate and unspeakable.

This tells you everything you need to know about the modern Democratic Party. It's a damning indictment on how out of touch the party has become to everyone outside white progressive elites who think they have to give lip service to these things, but not other things.
