Norway's journalist invoked the 'freest press in the world' at PM Modi in Oslo. Before Oslo lectures New Delhi on accountability, take a look at their own record. -In 2016, Norway signed a normalization pact with China that included a formal government pledge that it "attaches high importance to China's core interests and major concerns" and "will not support actions that undermine them." Norway's youth parties called it what it was — a formal renunciation of the right to criticize Chinese authorities. This was the price of resumed trade talks with Beijing after a 6-year pause. What triggered that 6-year freeze? Norway's Nobel Committee gave the Peace Prize to Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo in 2010. So China punished Oslo diplomatically and economically — stopped buying Norwegian salmon. And Oslo eventually capitulated. -In 2018, Norway's King and Queen visited China and claimed they were unaware of Xinjiang's internment camps — in 2018, when international documentation of mass detention was extensive. So you see, all this talk of 'human rights', 'press freedom' and other such fancy phrases are hollow and hypocritical. -Norway's own Helsinki Committee urged its government in 2022 to increase pressure on China over Xinjiang. The government did not comply. -In September 2024, PM Støre flew to Beijing, met Xi Jinping, and returned with 15-day visa-free access for Norwegian citizens. The official Chinese readout quoted Støre saying China's "development is full of vitality and has significant successful experience." Norway pledged again to respect China's "core interests." Human rights got a one-line mention vague enough to mean nothing. -Aftenposten — Norway's newspaper of record — has itself acknowledged that every time it published something critical of Beijing or positive about Taiwan, its website was blocked in China for two weeks. Did this issue ever get raised diplomatically? A journalist from a country whose government formally pledged not to challenge Beijing's core interests, whose royal family pleaded 'ignorance' about Xinjiang in 2018, whose PM flew to Beijing and praised Xi's 'vitality' in 2024, and whose flagship newspaper self-censored under Chinese pressure — invoking press freedom as a unilateral moral standard against a democratically elected leader of 1.4 billion people — is HYPOCRISY 101. Press freedom is a principle. Oslo needs to prove it actually deserves it's number 1 ranking before lecturing others.

Helle Lyng is a perfect example of dishonest journalists. Helle has 840 followers. Dagsavisen, the newspaper she works for has 48.2k followers. The last post by this newspaper on X was on Jan 22. 😂😂 Small Newspapers like these are not even invited to such events, they are planted by political agents. Dagsavisen newspaper is small and irrelevant and even worse than several smaller local and specialized papers in Norway. It is not even in top 40 newspapers of Norway. Dagsavisen also lost roughly 40% of its total daily reach in a year-over-year comparison. The total circulation (paid subscriptions across print and digital) fell to less than 14000 subscriptions. The newspaper is literally struggling to even pay salary to its Journalists. On top of that, it was not a Press Conference. It was a joint briefing. Reporters just take down what the leaders say and leaders leave after that. What she did was dishonest and that is why traditonal media and journalists like her are hated.

Primeminister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question, I was not expecting him to. Norway has the number one spot on the World Press Freedom Index, India is at 157th, competing with Palestine, Emirates & Cuba. It is our job to question the powers we cooperate with.

"Ye sab log bahut nirdayi hain, mummy. Mera dum ghut raha hai yahan." "Maa, aap mujhe yahan se le jao, please." "Mera jeevan narak ho gaya hai, mummy." What will you do as a parent if your married daughter sends you such messages about harassment from her in-laws repeatedly every now and then? I'm sure all of you with daughters won't waste a second after receiving the first SOS message or call, and rescue her, but sadly, it doesn't happen so often in the offline world. Why? These messages were sent by Twisha Sharma to her mother, a woman who allegedly died by suicide in Bhopal due to alleged harassment by her husband and in-laws. The girl was well-educated and from an accomplished family. Why didn't the parents act after the first call for help? And mind you, I'm not blaming them for the outcome. The sole criminal responsibility for this alleged suicide lies only with the alleged harassers. I'm just pointing out the helpless social reality that many parents hesitate, delay, or keep hoping things will improve on their own, even families as well-educated and accomplished as Twisha's. Just sad. High time parents realise that a divorced daughter is always better than a dead daughter.

Dear @narendramodi ji @AmitShah ji, If only you had listened to Annamalai ji @annamalai_k, taken his Vision for Tamilnadu seriously & Worked Hard for the Grassroots, the scene in TN would have been different today. This speech of Annamalai ji is a master class in building a party from the grassroots. Simply Brilliant. Something to introspect until 2031🔔 #FI

If BJP ever wants to come in Tamil Nadu 1. Bring back Annamalai. 2. Keep political distance from Vijay TVK. 3. No alliance. With anyone . Give Annamalai free hand to pick his unit for 10 years. He will form BJP govt in 5 years. Reason: Dravidian is done and dusted & Vijay has done many financial promises than seems impossible to fulfill .

@gharkekalesh Trust me when I say this, majority of Indians are dealing with mental illness, and unfortunately there's no cure of it. They're of no good to the society or to themselves. Just a burden.

Everyone fears the 8th house. Nobody checks what is actually sitting inside it 👇 𝟭. Open your chart. See which sign rules your 8th house and which planets, if any, posited there 𝟮. Empty 8th house = not weak. The 8th lord's placement tells the real story.. check where it is posited 𝟯. Jupiter in the 8th = long life, hidden wisdom, interest in the occult.. this is actually a protective yet complicated placement 𝟰. Saturn in the 8th = slow and difficult transformation, but extraordinary endurance and eventual mastery 𝟱. Rahu in the 8th = obsession with secrets, research, and the hidden world.. can produce brilliant investigators and healers 𝟲. A strong 8th house does not mean suffering.. it means your biggest growth happens through crisis, not comfort What planet do you have in your 8th? 👇 #astrology #zodiac #horoscope

@siddharth_iitm Tried Plazza few times in emergency situations and all I got was disappointment. They used to have 2.3 star rating on Google play store earlier, maybe they bought new ratings now. But nonetheless, you'll find in the reviews what I exactly I mean. Don't trust them.

Great Nicobar is not just a development project. It is India's Pokhran at sea. But someone has suddenly discovered “the environment” exactly where India’s strategic spine needs strengthening most: Great Nicobar. Not on the countless collapses his own family presided over. Not when India bled opportunity for decades. And right at the point where Bharat is trying to build maritime muscle in the Indo-Pacific, enter Rahul Gandhi. Let us strip away the theatre. The Great Nicobar project is the government’s own plan for a major transshipment port at Galathea Bay, close to the international shipping lane, with deeper waters, phased capacity rising from 4 MTEUs to 16 MTEUs. Great Nicobar sits near one of the world’s busiest shipping routes. It strengthens India’s maritime reach. It reduces dependence on foreign transshipment hubs. And it places Indian capacity exactly where a rising China would prefer India to remain weak, absent and apologetic. It's called 'protecting sovereignty'. This time the 'attack' timing is too convenient and the target is too strategic. The 'Chinese Agents' in India want it slowed, weakened or stopped. The moment India tries to build something that changes its strategic position, resistance appears from the Gandhi dynansty. And once you understand that, the panic from "Chinese Agents" makes sense. Any project that moves India from dependence to leverage will create losers - foreign commercial interests, strategic rivals, and domestic political actors who instinctively oppose any major national-capacity project if it does not carry their family name on it. So when Rahul Gandhi suddenly discovers moral passion in Great Nicobar, people are entitled to ask what exactly is being opposed here. Is it really only a question of trees? Or is it, once again, resistance to India building hard power, strategic depth and state capacity in a place where geography itself has handed us an advantage? That is the larger truth. Great Nicobar is being fought so fiercely because it is not a routine infrastructure scheme. It is a statement that India intends to think like a serious maritime power. And just as there were efforts once to stop India from becoming a nuclear power, there are efforts now to keep India from fully becoming a sovereign power at sea. opindia.com/2026/04/great-…
