@NomadicBackpac1 It certainly has in Thailand. Everyone travelling longer term ie not 2 weeks says the same. You simply can’t make it up as you go now, not on islands anyway, prices are double what they were a year ago too. Maybe it’s the impact of all those pesky 2 week travellers!!

@NomadicBackpac1 6 weeks into 2 months in Thailand. Down in the Andaman Islands now. Can’t believe how busy everywhere is. It’s getting really difficult to travel ad-hoc and make it up day by day here now. We’re on Ko Lanta at the moment. Won’t be long before the Chinese build a bridge to phuket!

@Ajarncom I was there a few weeks ago. It’s become a teenage backpacker theme park. Whoever runs the ‘Tipsy Tubing’ is doing well. Hundreds of them off their heads dancing to ABBA by the river at 5pm. Some really young ones too, under 18s, Bussed in from Chiang Mai. Strange place.

Tun and I did Pai on a Thailand road trip about five years ago. The day we left town, I promised myself to never darken its doorstep for as long as I live and travel in Thailand.

As a customer, I’ve usually found @bookingcomPA quite helpful.Unfortunately that’s not the case for partner hotels. An acquaintance has had his agreement terminated because of a ‘fraud’ he isn’t aware of. He’s asked for details but keeps getting the same frustrating response. 1/2
