Why didn't 6 face buttons become the standard?

@BankaiDragon @GamewithDave Firstly I'm a huge Sega fan so your anger is misplaced. Secondly 4 buttons was not standard in 1998 - NES/MS 2 buttons. MD/SS 3/6 buttons. SNES/PS 4 buttons. N64 2+4 buttons. Microsoft worked with Sega early on and could've been influenced. No biggie, just may've been different

@3rdDwarf @GamewithDave Blaming Dreamcast when Sony and Nintendo popularised the 4 button layout. Sega only followed suit with the Dreamcast because it was made standard. WTF you on about. You clowns love blaming Sega for everything.

@3rdDwarf @GamewithDave I love the Dreamcast but no 6 face button layout was sad that and only one Analogue stick but no one ever brings up one analogue stick.

@retrogaminggeek My main memory of the 360 was the feeling during the time that it became the default gaming platform. 8 years was a long time, with the 2008 crash in the middle. It was like console generations just stopped and the 360 became THE video game player. Then the Xbox One happened.

The moment is finally here, the Xbox 360 turns 20 years old today. Without a shadow of a doubt, one of my favourite games consoles ever. HD, friends list, voice chat, achievements, Live Arcade, Kinect, and an industry defining controller. What a machine. #xbox360
