@thetradingbro Yeah, the year I spent in government was great for that. Five weeks vacation, more than 10 sick days, all the stats, plus a nine day break over Xmas for no real reason. And maybe even a couple more I forgot about. That was great.

One of the few perks of government work is the absurd time off you can get. I’ve been on vacation for a week and don’t go back to work until the very end of the month. Then I work for 2 weeks, then on vacation again for 3 weeks. So basically most of July and august off work

Guys, the overwhelming probability is that Lindsey Graham suffered a fatal heart attack, not that he was poisoned by Russians. I love a good “is a John Le Carre novel coming to life?” dabble as much as the next person but the dude was a Scottish-American male aged 71 almost certainly on statins. This is exactly the demographic that dies of sudden heart attacks, trust me.

@thsottiaux Did anybody try its 3D spatial awareness? Opus 4.8 and Fable seem to be good with it. I love GPT-5.5's photorealistic image generation but 3D abilities are weak. Didn't get chance to try with 5.6 Sol yet, busy with refactoring frontend and I love what Sol does.

The US is the largest country in the world that speaks one language, has many power poles/major cities, and you are allowed to just get up and move to any of them without bureaucracy.

Here is a patriotic 250 sentiment. The USA is wonderful because it has various, distinct cultural centers spread across a continent - all worth knowing. NYC/Boston/Philadelphia are a thing. Down south you’ve got Richmond, Charleston. Chicago is a center - and Madison isn’t a far drive (and northern Wisconsin is a giant forest that is amazing). Out West you’ve got San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle all along a drive. Every one of those west coast cities has its own vibe, plenty of restaurants that use local ingredients etc. There is so much more I’m not talking about. This thing is worth holding onto. You’ve got to keep English, prevent immigration from getting out of hand. There is a unity in diversity here that doesn’t have a parallel in smaller nation states. Maybe you could compare it to Germany or Italy - both countries cobbled together in the 1860-70 period - from various independent states. That means in those countries you don’t exactly have a London or a Paris - cultural life is more spread out. But the USA is still unique.
