@horizonsplatoon I once put in a complaint over forcing me to take a pregnancy test when they know I am infertile - It was upsetting for me - the reply was that the computer won't let them continue with meds until they tick they've done a pregnancy test - where's the right to refuse?

Forced pregnancy tests should be outlawed. if the person doesnt consent, that should be the end of it. they should be able to sign a form accepting the risks and thats it

@Shrink_at_Large There's just a discontinuity of care in the NHS in all areas, I had an operation that disproved a diagnosis and then they left me on opioids for 18 months with no further testing. I filed papers against them for failures to provide requested reasonable adjustments over 7 months.

I resent the normalisation of discontinuity of care in NHS mental health services.

@TheMoose1775 @abbythelibb_ I agree, I have put science and history on the back burner for the last few month too - we've been on trips in that time, taken in museums, done some building projects - sometimes we dial back a bit and focus on English and Math to stop overwhelm in our ASD 7 year old.

@abbythelibb_ If your kids are early elementary and you’re focusing on reading, writing, and math, this isn’t a problem. Chill.

I'm a homeschooled homeschooling enthusiast, and this isn't ok. Take an intentional break from one subject to focus on another? Great. Take a mental health day off a subject the student is struggling in to relieve the tension and reset? Great. Spread out summer break throughout the year so you can use it when it makes the most sense for your family? Great. But **forgetting** two whole subjects for two whole months and then posting about it online like it's cute and relatable is not okay. Are we trying to drive homeschooling standards as low as public school standards? As long as they beat us in the race to the bottom, we've done right by our kids? Are we trying to convince lawmakers to push intrusive regulations? What are we doing here, people? Homeschooling should be about giving your kids the best education you can. Not whatever this is.

@kathrynhall_ We packed up some of my son's nicer toys before Christmas to take to the charity shop to make way for new ones and the lady snapped "no!" And pointed at the door. Quite distressing for my disabled son.

@JimsTweets Well, I don't know about USA ,but here in the UK - no home educated kids don't have to take exams. Parents do have to provide a yearly document to the government listing the progress of their child, how they measure progress - its strict on English, maths, P.E and socialisation.

@junker_jo I remember sending mine to a nursery just before he was four and they said he was behind because he couldn't use scissors - for some reason it never entered my mind to give a toddler scissors

Decades ago the old ladies in my family printed their favorite recipes into a little booklet as part of a church fundraiser or something. I just opened it to a random page of “Soups & Salads.”

“Cook like your grandma!” Meanwhile, our grandma’s recipes are like: Mix crisco with ritz crackers, a cup of sugar, & a few drops of food coloring, then bake in a jello mold with processed cheese product. Top with mayonnaise or miracle whip, for the health conscious

@HedgeUnderCover Yes my son with ASD is picky to the point we've suspected afrid - we've had to go no pressure eating for the last year in front of the TV - I'm getting back to the table - putting side dishes out , not telling him to try or even offering - hoping he'll try them eventually.

As a mother of an adult child who was diagnosed at five with Asperger's, which is now considered part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder, who also had ARFID, I will defend with every breath children and adults who physically CANNOT eat certain foods. Those who do not have this⬇️

@TheMeldrew I had this - I've had meltdowns in the past and been denied medical care ect . .. so I really mask hard and crash hard on these things - they say your not disabled because you're polite but if you're not they report you as being abusive and refuse help.

Do others with ADHD also have a problem with wearing white or light colored clothes and keeping them stain-free or is it just me? It’s become a running joke in our house that I stain any piece of clothing within 30 minutes of putting it on 😬

Can y’all be honest: what do you actually eat for breakfast? Because some people really think we’re out here having pancakes, French toast, waffles with syrup, hashbrowns, eggs, toast, bacon and sausage… every single day.

@thetrainline What can be done in the case of disabilities - because I'm not talking about preference - I'm talking about reasonable adjustments and I think it's very unfair of you to suggest it's a want not a disability need.

@thetrainline why is it the last few journeys I've made with my son they've sat us across the aisle from each other instead of next to each other, my son has autism & medical needs and it's not right to put him sat next to another person when we tried to book seats together.

My son (7) wanted to be a mechanic, but since we saw a starlink launch in Orlando (at a distance of course) he wants to build rockets, so thank you @elonmusk - he'll manage it to, he's six years ahead in maths, builds things everyday, homeschooled due to autism - little genius.

@AmazonHelp No, this is still a non-answer. You haven't said what you'd actually do differently this time. I've already tried every email channel including the Managing Director's office with no proper resolution. Tell me specifically what changes, or I'm not wasting more time.

@AmazonHelp - laptop stolen by driver, Amazon replaced laptop with a broken one - then makes me go through a call heavy process to try and replace it despite telling them numerous times I'm non-verbal - police involved but now it's breaking equality act as well.
