JUST IN: The Pentagon has released a photo of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, a 19-year-old U.S. soldier from Carrollton, Texas, who was killed during Iran's ballistic missile and drone attacks over the weekend. Gonzales was supporting a U.S. mission against the Islamic State group when she was killed while helping defend against incoming Iranian strikes. Her death comes as fighting across the Middle East continues to intensify. U.S. forces launched their ninth consecutive night of counterstrikes against Iranian targets as the two nations continue to battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz.

O governo brasileiro repudia a decisão anunciada hoje pelo governo dos EUA relativa à imposição de tarifas de 25% sobre produtos brasileiros, com base na Seção 301 da Lei de Comércio de 1974. Não há justificativa para medidas unilaterais contra o nosso país. Segundo estatísticas do próprio governo norte-americano, os EUA acumularam nos últimos 15 anos US$ 424,5 bilhões em superávit de bens e serviços com o Brasil. Em 2025, 76% das importações originárias dos EUA entraram no país sem pagar imposto de importação, e a alíquota média efetivamente aplicada sobre produtos norte-americanos foi de apenas 3,1%. Demonstramos que são descabidas as alegações contra o PIX e a regulação de plataformas digitais, bem como são absurdas as acusações sobre desmatamento. How many people do you think are familiar with this reference? Do you think your average Vancouverite walking past this pole will look at that sticker and be like "ah ha, of course, this illustration of a guy with a beard and a giant star of David on his chest talking about how he likes to steal is a reference to that one very specific Israeli settler from that video clip."

I saw this sticker on a pole while I was walking. It’s from some pro-Palestine group and I’m sure someone can make a convoluted wall of text defense of how it’s not actually antisemitic, but man, by that point the term basically has no useful definition at all.

In 2009, my father--a Palestinian who grew up in the West Bank and became an American citizen when I was a child--was denied entry into Israel on a trip to visit his mother, siblings, nieces, and nephews in the West Bank, because he was Palestinian. Israel never provided any specific explanation for mistreating him, beyond the obvious inference it was due to his ethnicity. Despite promising reciprocal treatment of Americans regardless of their ethnic backgrounds under the visa waiver program between our countries, Israel routinely abrogates its commitments.
