Super excited to have found the new @Breathe_London AQ monitor at Hogarth Rdbt. We’ve had several peaks of 90-100 NO2 here recently (usually after school & in evenings) & at 8am this morning it was almost 50! We’ll continue to pressure for better AQ & need support along the way

@neilchristiex @JohnJohnStewart Where in London have you seen a “main road traffic reduction scheme”? Where we live, main roads are big receivers of additional traffic from LTNs. &the irresponsible thing is that everything is blamed on sth else (“it’s central London traffic, not displaced traffic”, they say)

@JohnJohnStewart Which main road scheme would you like to see research done on? Is there a main road traffic reduction scheme in London that you support?

A more productive area would be research that compared the return on investment that focused on casualty reduction on 'main' rds with money spent on LTNs. But once again Rachel Aldred's Active Travel Unit is only keen to do work that promotes LTNs. theguardian.com/world/2025/jul…

@JohnJohnStewart This is a junction w/a sacrificed road. These 2 women waited about 3 mins before there was a break in the traffic & they went against the what is required. Traffic comes around a bend & could easily have hit them. I routinely advise against when I see it about to happen. Ignored

I know this junction well. During the years I cycled to work, I used it daily. It's a messy local junction with traffic coming from all directions but, to be quite honest, if all users wait for the green light, it is not a problem. theguardian.com/news/2025/jun/…

So. @LBHF are turning Rivercourt Road in Hammersmith (off the A4 that leads to King Street that crosses the cycle lane) into a private road because: 1) Cars from outside the area use it 2) 9 residents live on the street It couldn’t possibly be because: 1) The @LBofHounslow cycle lane is dangerous and poorly designed 2) People other than the 9 residents use their road because it is a busy area of London? #C9 #poordesign #dangerous #notfitforpurpose

And what does this mean, in terms of traffic AND accident stats on the A4? When will ppl care about the roads for A4 residents (we live here with our children!), and the over 100,000 vehicles AND COUNTING that are shoved here every day? @TfL @SadiqKhan @RuthCadbury @RossLydall

A number of things that are not clear, in this scheme made in the name of “safety”: ALL LBHF residents will have access to Rivercourt, BOTH WAYS. So there is conflicting traffic now on BOTH King St AND on A4. What is this roundabout on Rivercourt & A4, & why would people need it?
Chiswick_Wheelie@ChiswickWheelie

@LBHF are apparently planning to close off access to the A4 at Rivercourt Road to the general public and fine anyone using it without a permit. Their website states that this is in response to "requests from residents"...but are they being honest about that? (1/8)

New LTN in @LBHF! @StephenCowan kept Rivercourt Rd well under the radar. It will cause huge congestion in Hammersmith. Residents and businesses contact us in S Fulham to understand the impact. Make sure that the whole neighbourhood knows what is happening.

@CameraTraffic @LBHF @StephenCowan Just wait until we “prioritise street for residents”. A4 for A4 residents! They claim 4000 vehicles as too many, the A4 has 100,000! &only reason why ppl take Rivercourt is b/c Chiswick Ln (previous route) is super congested Tks to LONG traffic light cycle to add time for C9!!!

@CameraTraffic @LBHF @StephenCowan 2/2 plus… vehicles coming from A316 heading N (Acton &beyond) who see huge traffic in H’smith will want to take the only alternative, which is Chiswick Ln - also heavily congested and residential. It is a wrong idea that funnelling vehicles to 1-2 narrow alternatives is good

During my mayoral campaign I constantly said that TFL and therefore the Mayor intended to bring in pay per mile. I was told by many that I was just scaremongering - do read the below. Sadiq Khan would like to see few/no private cars on the road. londoncentric.media/p/london-road-…

Do you think he honestly believes bus lanes and cycle lanes are "not in competition", even when bus lanes replace cycle lanes and LTNs relocate traffic onto bus routes? These cycling initiatives clearly slow bus journey times and increase air pollution exposure for bus users. 😞

@MalcolmBacchus @visitcamberwell @Cinema4CwellGrn @francesca_kms @TheBHF @BSHeartFailure @Sport_England @Chris_Boardman @activetraveleng @SocEnvJustice @PlaceManagement @justspace7 @LittleNinjaUK @Heart_BMJ That's an argument for more bus lanes, not an argument for fewer bike lanes. They're not in competition – more or less every other European country manages to have both bus and bike infrastructure. It's not rocket science.

Enfield admit to not recording pollution levels on roads outside LTNs …. It’s absolutely shocking @JourneysPlaces of Enfield council have not recorded any pollution levels on boundary roads and other roads who have taken the hit in 4 years. They have made millions of pounds and provided for affluent LTN residents and did not even bother to record the poison they pushed upon us ……

A first-rate report out today by @LonTravelWatch shows how much we rely on the bus esp young people, those on low-incomes, disabled people & many from ethnic minority communities. Yet bus speeds have fallen to 9mph. A top priority must be to sort that. londontravelwatch.org.uk/campaigns/maki…
