@Tech_girlll Mehn I totally get the frustration fr. That "what should I do next?" message especially when the person hasn't even tried Googling, reading the error, or experimenting for 10 to 15 mins.
cuz what do you mean... can't you explore?
@thomasbrushdev - "human beings are basically purposefully “ungodly”"
Can you imagine being like the coolest, most capable dude ever and yet no matter what you do nobody seems to like you. It's a tragic story, but I find if nobody likes you, the problem is you.
Lots of confusion about what Christianity is at its core. Couple things: human beings are basically purposefully “ungodly” meaning they suck and they hurt other people (all of us), and God owes them nothing. In fact he owes them judgement. But God instead became human and said I’ll take your guilt so you can be with me. You can say “no thanks” and he’ll let you be away from Him, or you can say “Help” and He will, forever. Thats about it. The bad things you do are actually really really really bad, perhaps we just don’t feel that way because everyone does bad things. But in the presence of God the bad you do is eternally, infinitely awful. (This is the sticking point for a lot of folks who feel like they are “decent”). I can only personally speak for myself: I’m not decent, trust me. I know what goes thru my head. I need some kind of “get out of jail free card”. If this sounds psycho I get it. But I also know how often I ask my own wife to forgive me daily haha. Okay so what is God though? God is the entity outside of this dimension, outside of this server. You’re the dish, he’s the cook (so no, the “who made god argument makes no sense, like saying “who cooked the cook”). And billions of people feel him but they argue about what he is. Just cuz people argue about who God is doesn’t mean there’s no God, rather it means for some reason billions of people thru history felt him. Christians say he is singular, is the equivalent of love, and became man.
@Xstreambob@thomasbrushdev You miss the most important part! Jesus is the risen king! This is what the apostles taught in acts! Jesus did die for your sins! But faith in Jesus Himself is the important part! Not intellectually assenting to facts about His life and death, or theories about how salvation work
@thomasbrushdev God is good all the time not us. The sad part is not everyone will believe that Jesus died for their sins and was the son of God. To try and argue that with someone that has already made up their mind is almost impossible. At that point it's up to God.we cant save them only Jesus
@thomasbrushdev@android272 This is actually 1 theory of atonement called PSA that didn’t not really come around until the 1500s. In fact in Isaiah 28:21 God calls this His alien task, retributive justice and judgement the way we think of it.
#GodotEngine 4.4 editor has not been working fine for me... Some times, after debugging the game, the UI becomes unresponsive. Is not freezed because i can still open the menus on top, but i cannot do anything else. Anyone is suffering with this too?
Godot Engine 4.4 is finally here! 🚀
Look forward to plenty of quality of life improvements hidden within this release. Faster load speeds, reduced stutter, streamlined processes, and more!

@ABoringLadder Generated LODs might suck in terms of quality, not performance. But also they don't generate billboards, which have better performance than more complex meshes.
The Terrain3D Instancer now supports Levels of Detail (LODs) for greater performance in #GodotEngine.
Your assets can have up to 10 LODs, though no more than 4 is recommended. The example has different colors and shapes to show the transitions, but normally your LODs will look very similar so that transitions won't be noticed. Godot supports fading between LODs, but it's broken, so we've disabled it for now until the engine is fixed.
We also support a shadow impostor so you can render a highly detailed tree on LOD0, but calculate the shadows from a lower detailed LOD2.
Changing LODs individually is not possible with MultimeshInstance3D. The blocks (cells) are sized at 32m, hard coded. Breaking up the MMIs allows us to cull them by frustum, occlusion or distance, and now show different LODs. You can manually set the view distance of each LOD.
Now available in nightly builds, and coming in the next release. We're wrapping up a few more features like Geomorphing, which make LOD transitions for the ground mesh smoother. I'm looking at releasing 1.0 in March. 🤞
@dungeoncraft@d20play I remove any damage dealing spells; spell only do interesting things. I reduce hp and remove to-hit rolls. Enemy have actions that I roll to see what they do.
@d20play I think D&D has a history of giving PCs incredible power & then stripping them away under certain circumstances. Instead, everything including PCs should have fewer HP but do MORE damage. The result would be a faster-moving game. IMO
I'm not a big fan of how 5E D&D's Legendary Resistance has a "Sorry player, your action did nothing" feeling. Thinking of it taking 1/10th of a creature's hp to use Legendary Resistance. Thoughts?
@WeeWheaton@mikemearls I don’t about draw steel but “I always hit” just is a different aspect of game design for a different feel of game. I love “into the odd-likes” because they are fast and impactful they make combat feel meaningful at least in my experience
Great points in regards to 5.5. I would just also say that you don't have to mention two games that aren't even out yet and appear to be, from early looks, disappointments from a mechanical and "fun" POV. These are games that are ONLY noteworthy due to who is (supposedly) creating them.
"Draw Steel" in particular looks to be a brutal mess, a thinly disguised "Powered by the Apocalypse" clone. Nothing earth-shattering aside from the participation-trophy "I always hit" mechanic. A game that appears to do 4e far worse than, well, 4e did.
Rating 5e using my scale is tricky, because I think you have to look at it through the eyes of 2014 when its comps were Pathfinder and 4e, and today when its comps are Shadowdark, OSE, Draw Steel, Daggerheart, etc. But for me, today, let's hit each point:
@memeslich Instant hit static damage combat, this ensures a deadly combat that players can figure out their odds of victory quickly and intuitively and forces combat as war instead of pure attrition
@newinattica@TheCinesthetic After watching this in the theater as a kid I showed it to my mom at home. 5 seconds into the movie she pauses it and say before we can continue I need to know what year this takes place in I hate when they don’t put it at the bottom of the screen. Then waited till I told her
