Thank you @curatorian for making my Easter and confirming that this is my grandfather, Claude Lapsley, a chaplain in the 8th Army. I hardly remember him, but knew he was Anzio and something in his bearing in this film recalled my late father. @I_W_M @ArmyChaplaincy

🇬🇧 and 🇮🇹 combining to bring the power of two modern carriers with 5th gen strike aircraft to NATO. This is precisely what a more European NATO looks like, as well as a great example of interoperability. 🇬🇧 and 🇮🇹 in particular have very compatible air capabilities.

#NeptuneStrike 25-4 is here. 🔱 For the next week the @RoyalNavy's 🇬🇧aircraft carrier @HMSPWLS alongside the Italian Navy’s 🇮🇹 aircraft carrier ITS Cavour will be under #NATO's operational command, led by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (@STRIKFORNATO). Combined with multiple Allied air and naval assets, the two carrier strike groups will execute full-spectrum multi-domain operations across Europe as far north as the Baltic Sea region, to the Black Sea, and along NATO’s South-Eastern flank. #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether #DeterAndDefend

It was a privilege to watch this exercise today with colleagues from the North Atlantic Council. 🇫🇮 already had a remarkable system of national defence and is now integrated as a highly capable and resolute Ally anchoring NATO’s northeastern flank.

💥 Northern Strike 25-2 🇫🇮❄️ Finland is conducting a major artillery exercise in Lapland, bringing together 2,200 soldiers and 500+ vehicles and systems at the Rovajärvi training area. For the first time, 🇵🇱 Poland’s Homar-K rocket launchers and troops from the 1st Masurian Artillery Brigade are fully integrated into Finnish command and fire-control networks. 🚀 From target acquisition 🔍 to digital fire coordination 💻 and winter logistics, the exercise boosts readiness and precision in harsh northern conditions. This visit, hosted by our Commander Vice Admiral Doug Perry, reaffirmed the UK’s strong commitment to the Alliance. The two leaders exchanged on the vital role @JFCNorfolk has in securing the transatlantic link by contributing to some of the UK’s main focuses including: 🔹#NATO’s increased ability to defend the Arctic region 🔹The command and control of the Atlantic Sea lanes 🔹Anti-submarine warfare.
