Securing the homeland is an American imperative. As we begin our nation’s 250th year and approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we recommit ourselves to building a homeland that is safer, stronger, and better prepared for the threats of tomorrow.

Ensuring faster delivery of critical information on threats from DHS to local and state partners is essential. @repgabeevans' "ELO Realignment and Strategic Engagement Act of 2026," would ensure I&A can do just that. "Getting the correct information to law enforcement in a timely manner can often be the difference between life and death. This bill reorganizes a current office within I&A called ELO to centralize resources and information-sharing mechanisms."

Another historic month for border security under the Trump administration. An end to catch-and-release at our borders means safer communities across the country.  @HouseGOP will continue to support the men and women on the frontlines of the homeland security mission who make it possible.

Next week, @RepGarbarino will lead a hearing with leaders from the aviation sector on opportunities to modernize TSA and strengthen aviation security. Twelve straight months of ZERO releases at our border. This isn’t a coincidence— it’s a direct result of Republican policies under the leadership of @POTUS and Congressional Republicans. While Democrats blocked law enforcement paychecks for 76 days to reopen the border and protect criminal illegal aliens(!!)—Republicans stand every day WITH law enforcement to keep our communities safe. As air travel demand continues to rise nationwide, U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) is backing new legislation to ensure airport security fees are used for aviation security improvements rather than being redirected to other areas of federal spending. @RepDaleStrong recently introduced the bipartisan SAFEGUARDS Act alongside U.S. Rep. Tim Kennedy (D-NY). The act would require revenue collected through the federal 9/11 Passenger Security Fee to be reinvested into airport and aviation security upgrades nationwide. This National Police Week, I joined the Leventhal Report to honor the brave officers across the Third District who risk their lives to protect our communities. I will always stand with law enforcement and fight to ensure they have the support they deserve.

As we wrap up National Police Week, I want to once again thank and recognize the brave men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. I will continue to stand with and support law enforcement across the country and right here on Long Island.

The discussion focused on strengthening collaboration, preparing for major upcoming events on U.S. soil like the FIFA World Cup, and enhancing information sharing to better preserve public safety.
