Securing the homeland is an American imperative. As we begin our nation’s 250th year and approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we recommit ourselves to building a homeland that is safer, stronger, and better prepared for the threats of tomorrow.

This week, the House passed @repgabeevans’ “ELO Realignment and Strategic Engagement Reform Act” to enhance law enforcement coordination and streamline DHS engagement with state & local partners: “From my own experience, I know that state and local law enforcement often face national and international threats. Terrorists, cartels, cyberattacks, foreign enemy regimes…This bill ensures that state and local agencies can easily and frequently access the resources they require.”

Amid heightened global terror threats, the House passed @repvanepps’ bill yesterday to strengthen coordination between @DHSgov & Congress in assessing and supporting Major Non-NATO Ally countries as they confront terror threats within their own borders. Yesterday, @RepDaleStrong’s “SAFEGUARDS Act of 2026, which I was honored to cosponsor, passed the House of Representatives. This legislation will ensure that passenger security fees are actually used for aviation and airport security.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we have a responsibility to ensure every dollar collected through the Passenger Security Fee is used for its intended purpose: keeping Americans safe. I was proud to speak in support of the bipartisan SAFEGUARDS Act, legislation I helped introduce to invest in modern screening technology, strengthen airport security, and better protect the millions of Americans who travel each year.

Proud to see the House pass my bipartisan RSSP Extension Act today, along with nine other bipartisan Homeland Security Committee bills. This commonsense legislation gives TSA greater flexibility to strengthen security and improve the travel experience. I was happy to work across the aisle to deliver practical solutions that keep Americans safe.

I am honored to announce that my Major Non-NATO Ally Terror Threat Assessment Act passed the House today! We cannot ignore the fact that foreign terrorist organizations continue to operate in or around some MNNA countries, creating threats that could have serious consequences for U.S. national security. My bill strengthens coordination between the Department of Homeland Security and Congress to better assess and support MNNA partners as they confront threats within their own borders. Watch Rep. During a recent @HomelandGOP Committee markup, I spoke in support of my Improving Travel for Military Members Act. Our active-duty service members and their families make tremendous sacrifices for our country. My bill would create dedicated TSA screening lanes to make their travel a little easier.

As a member of @HomelandGOP, I have consistently advocated for strong border security measures to deter known and suspected terrorists. Under @POTUS, our border is finally secure.

I am grateful to the Trump administration for cracking down on the sanctuary states handing out CDL driver's licenses to illegal aliens. This practice is illegal and puts the lives of those on our roads at risk.

While a secure Southwest border has undermined transnational criminal networks, these criminals are looking for new routes. Subcommittee Chairman @RepMichaelGuest reminds us that “we cannot allow the Northern Corridor to become the next preferred corridor for these criminal networks.”

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, our brave Border Patrol agents and CBP officers have been empowered to fulfill their mission to secure our borders and protect our homeland—despite the stunts Democrats attempted to pull.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, our forefathers came together to codify our nation's independence and change the course of human history. Their ideas of freedom, liberty, and democracy — while radical then — became the guiding light for nations across the globe. Since then, America has changed dramatically. Wars have been fought, our borders have expanded, yet the values and ideals of this nation have remained the same: if you put your mind to something, you will have the freedom and opportunity to achieve it. We owe a debt to so many for our successes. The men and women who fought overseas to protect us, the workers who built this country from the ground up, and the leaders who guided us through our darkest moments all deserve our deepest gratitude. As we reflect on the values of the United States and the heroes who fought to uphold them, we must commit to continuing their legacy.
