@FifthThird bank of your phone lines have had a busy signal for about the last 24 hours. Hard to call you back.
English

@cobeywilliamson @wildfiretoday This is doable with additional payloads for those cell denied area but 100 percent doable with the Team Awareness Kit. tak.gov The good thing is the USFS is already piloting this as a solution.
English

@wildfiretoday Fact of the matter is, if there was real time tracking of ground personnel by dispatch and air attack, most recent burn over scenarios would have been avoided. And the technology to accomplish that is already in everyone’s pocket.

@wildfiretoday It was an honor to consult with PCAST on this subject. The USFS has been piloting the Android Team Awareness Kit. It is used by the military and is built as is to be a tracker and field navigation too. It will ride on a variety of networks, MANET, SAT, CELL, LORA, VHF/UHF/7-800.

@unfuckedfire Totally! I have a rookie now and I ask questions to gauge their knowledge base. It my job to pass on my experiences (good/bad) and tips for them to develop their tradecraft. Its not my job to make them feel like an idiot for not knowing something.

all eight people get across. After a few more river crossings, all were wet and cold but we were back safe at the rescue trucks. By 3:30 AM rescuers called it a night. This rescue of 8 came at the perfect time time, reminding us why we volunteer to do this.

@fireengineering I did the math worked 5300 hours of OT roughly 230 - 24 hour shifts, we work 120 regular shifts so this person had no time off unless he took vacation hours.
English

The captain had a base pay of $169,764 and was paid $502,681 for overtime, along with $19,637 in other pay and personnel benefits of $20,851. hddailynews.com/news/state/los…
English

@HeliSlacker @HotshotWake Did the math. OT rate is $92 an hour. Worked 5523 hours of OT. Thats 230 shifts. We already work 120 shifts a year. This guy had no time off unless he took his own shift off occasionally. LAFD pay in on the higher side of things due to cost of living.
English

@HeliSlacker @HotshotWake The math. Divide the base pay by 26 payperiods. We work 106 hours in two weeks payperiod straight time. Divide 2 week base by 106. That will be the hourly rate. Multiply that by 1.5 and there is your OT hour rate. Take the OT earnings and dive by OT hour rate = OT hours worked.

@NYCEMSwatch You mean "earned" that money. It does not come for free.
