He fought for this country... but when he needed it most, it abandoned him. This is how they killed him… in a hospital room — not on a battlefield. November 19th, twenty twenty-one He had pneumonia signs, no fever, We took a home test — came back clean But I saw the fear in him, and I knew what it’d mean We went to the first place — white coats and fake grace Did an X-ray, no swab, no test — just labels to save face They said “those are COVID lungs,” but I saw the lie We left that place… thought he’d survive Tried to get help, call in meds from outside But once we walked out, clinics shut us wide “No treatment if you refused the stay” So we went to University — thought maybe they’d save the day But he was killed by his own government Not a warzone, not an enemy A Marine left gasping for breath While nurses stood in apathy He didn’t fall on foreign ground He died in silence, drugged and bound Remdesivir stole his life And nobody’s paid the price His oxygen read 80, walking on his own Five hours waiting, while he groaned alone They finally admitted him, but locked me out I said, “Proposition 6 — I ain’t backing down.” They let me stay “at your own risk,” they said No food, no gloves, not even a bed But I stayed beside him, held his hand Watched a warrior break from a cruel command They gave him Remdesivir — his body convulsed Turned purple fast, I screamed — no pulse I ran for help — they looked, but stayed Behind a window… afraid, or just obeyed? That night was our goodbye, but I didn’t know We laughed, we planned — now I just replay it slow He was scared — never been sick in twenty years Still thought more about us than himself through the tears A nurse — a vet — bullied my Marine Said, “Don’t quit now, four more days ain’t a thing.” Tried to shame him, strip his will That’s how they break the strong — that’s how they kill He was killed by his own government Not in battle, not in war He trusted the system, gave his life And they left him on that hospital floor No hero’s sendoff, no trumpet sound Just machines, and silence, and turning around They said “protocol,” I say murder And my children… still cry for their father My husband was a Marine.
