PCFF member Vered Berman lost her mother to the conflict, yet chose not to let grief lead to hatred or revenge. This year, Combatants for Peace turns twenty. The movement was founded in 2006 by a group of former Palestinian fighters and former Israeli soldiers who had decided to build something together at a time when separation seemed far more realistic than partnership.

ALLMEP’s polling shows that 70% of Israelis can accept regional normalisation + est of Pal state. And 50% think it’s either essential/desirable. That’s waaaaaay larger than projected vote share for any party. Yet none of them has made it a core component of campaign for election

Women's participation in peace negotiations is essential ,but not enough. In Brussels, we met with Marie Jeanne Dos Santos, foreign policy advisor to the president of the Europian council and discussed mechanisms to embed gender perspectives in policymaking. @EUCouncil

In Paris, @Samah_Salaime represented Wahat al-Salam Neve Shalom alongside @ALLMEP & more than 150 peacebuilders, diplomats & civil society leaders ahead of the G7. She also met French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot @jnbarrot to discuss peace education and shared society.

We welcomed Archbishop Sarah Mullally, the new Archbishop of Canterbury, on her first official Holy Land visit. With our partners at Sabeel we spoke of human rights as a shared religious calling and named our concern at rising settler violence in the West Bank

Échanges denses et constructifs avec @JohnLyndon_ et Rami Aman, qui ont contribué au succès de l'Appel de Paris du 12 juin, qui a réuni à Paris à l'initiative du Ministre @jnbarrot les sociétés civiles palestiniennes et israéliennes, en présence de responsables internationaux.

One pitch. No sides.⚽️ We participated in the @PeresCenter Mini World Cup games, bringing together Arab, Jewish, Druze and Bedouin children from across the country. Football can bring us together. We left the day feeling hopeful for a brighter, peaceful and cooperative future.

Our presence behind the transparent studio of Channel 13's morning show was met with warmth. The hosts, Omer Yardeni and Rotem Israel, addressed us on air and even came out to us during the break to show their support. The maddening reality in which five more families are going through the most horrific day of their lives, while the public is torn between heavy grief and the demands of "life goes on," creates a painful dissonance in all of us. It is time for studios to start hearing more and more voices that oppose the war and promote a political agreement. Enough broadcasting to the public that war is our only option. Enough!
