NSO, MoSPI celebrated the culmination ceremony of the 75th anniversary of the National Sample Survey (NSS) today in Udaipur. The programme was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Hon’ble Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, Minister of State, MoSPI; Dr Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI; Ms Geeta Singh Rathore, DG (NSS); and other senior dignitaries, marking an important milestone in the NSS journey. As part of the event, field offices from across the country presented cultural performances, including folk dances, theme songs, nukkad nataks, experience-sharing sessions and other presentations, highlighting the collective efforts of field staff and their contribution to the statistical system. Regional Office Raipur, under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, organized the Nationwide Quiz Contest – Anvesha 2.0 on “Official Statistics” for students and alumni of various colleges and universities in Chhattisgarh at New Circuit House, Raipur recently, as part of the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the National Sample Survey (NSS). The event was presided over by Shri Altaf Hussain Haji, Deputy Director General, NSO Raipur. In his address, he highlighted the importance of official statistics in national development and explained that Anvesha 2.0 is part of a nationwide initiative being held in all state capitals. Shri Haji emphasized NSO’s role in building a robust database through large-scale surveys, aiding both Central and State Governments in evidence-based policymaking.
