As the #TTC continues to tackle unacceptable levels of fare cheating, we are phasing out the "no tap" gates at our subway stations - and it starts today with stations on Line 4 Sheppard. Across the TTC network, full and partial fare evasion at these gates is depriving our system of more than $20 million a year - money we could use to improve service. Collectors will be at the fare gates to manually open them for those who legitimately don't need to pay, including children under 12, support persons, and those using paper bus transfers.
