@kadey180_x@SnowMed34 i mean yes maybe but also the world is loud... we wouldn't need the 24/7 dopamine and serotonin if the world hadn't gone to hell in a handbask and a cheeto wasn't ruining it
@SnowMed34 these people can't sit in their own thoughts or the thoughts of the world around them, they need 24/7 dopamine and serotonin hits to function
@SnowMed34 its not just to listen to stuff... its not drown out or quite all the noise which can be alot to deal with sometimes... sometimes i'm not even listening to music i just have to noise suppression on

NEW: The man who was struck by a Frontier Airlines jet preparing to take off from Denver International Airport had breached a perimeter fence just two minutes before being hit.
Video footage shows the chaotic moment when the plane's engine caught fire.
12 people onboard the flight reported minor injuries and five were transported to the hospital.
Authorities say the individual breached the fence just two minutes before being hit. They say the person is not believed to be an airport employee.
Passengers say they were stuck on the plane for about 3 minutes as "toxic fumes" began entering the cabin.
"A trespasser breached airport security at Denver Int’l Airport, deliberately scaled a perimeter fence, and ran out onto a runway," said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
"No one should EVER trespass on an airport."

Linux audio is driving me crazy 😤
Built-in speaker volume is noticeably lower compared to Windows even at 100%.
Tried Ubuntu, Linux Mint & Fedora same weak output on the same laptop.
Why does this problem still exist in 2026?
Is it driver issue, PipeWire/PulseAudio, or just how Linux handles audio?

@davepl1968 Did this pay phone have a card reader... i thought payphones had been phased out by the Debit card era that seems quite strange... also the fact that its GTE branded they went out in the 90's but cool all the same
Grab yer quarters, Dave's Garage has a working payphone! And it even accepts incoming calls, if you can figure out the new number ;-).
I found it brand new in the box, a spare for something. The big problem is that they expect to connect, via a built-in modem, to the central office to get billing and rate information before they'll even THINK about letting you make or receive a call.
To get around that, I burned a custom ROM for it in my DigiPro (thankfully, found some compatible EPROMs on eBay). It stubs all that out and customizes the onscreen messages.
Next, I attached an HT802 ATA to my LAN, a little box with Ethernet in and two phone ports with a dial tone. The only catch is that you have to provide a VoIP connection via the internet to the little ATA box. So I made that happen, signed up for some cheap service, and now my major expense is the 911 tax.
I made a custom "Dave's Garage" plate for it, programmed the VFD display to welcome you to the shop, and it works great!
....as long as you bring a quarter!
Is there enough here for an episode on it? I don't know if people are nostalgic for payphones!
