It took me 17 years and an alphabet soup of visas to become a U.S. citizen. And in Congress, I’ll continue working to protect and expand legal pathways to citizenship, including for TPS holders.

@PlasticChairDis @vancemurphy @RepJayapal Nope. The only blocked are from like 60-70 countries and it’s mostly family and related which is a very small amount overall. And those countries don’t even have a lot of migration. And you are getting beat in court over those visa pauses so some are still being let in

I agree with you on this one. It’s not inconsistent to say that billionaires (money) has too much influence on our politics and still be grateful to live in a country where people can make billions. Elon is a national treasure but I don’t like the idea of one person being able to influence millions of us normies simply by spending the loose change from their couch

Notice that candidates from Texas, Georgia, and Maine are talking about the political power of billionaires and making populism central to their campaigns. These are not far left states.

It took almost FIVE MONTHS for the Trump admin to lift a “pause” on immigration benefits (including renewals!) for hundreds of international doctors serving American patients whose only sin was to be born in a country Trump dislikes.

So if you go to uscis.gov/newsroom/alert… you will see the memo regarding the USCIS benefits pause. It says last updated 3/30. Well, guess what? It changed sometime after 4/27 and I'm guessing it was probably today given the horribly shameful news that researchers who were working on the pancreatic cancer AI diagnosis breakthrough have been caught up in the illegal USCIS benefits pause. The second screenshot below is what the paragraph with a new physician exception looked like two days ago.

USCIS posted that have lifted the adjudication pause holds for non-citizens in the following groups
* vetted through Operation PARRIS,
* certain petitions filed by U.S. citizens (not clear which ones or if it is case by case,
* intercountry adoption forms,
* certain rescheduled oath ceremonies,
* statutory and regulatory decision issuance {I have absolutely no idea what that is
* refugee registrations for South African citizens/nationals
* certain special immigrant visa petitions,
certain employment authorization documents
* asylum applications from non high-risk countries, and
* "applications associated with medical physicians".
"We continue to review all application types and lift holds for both individual and group cases as appropriate."
