@hunterwalk @shl 🙌🏼. Great leaders help you do 3 things: embrace the big vision, laugh a lot along the way, focus on what really matters to succeed.

We made a blind taste test to see whether NYT readers prefer human writing or AI writing. 86,000 people have taken it so far, and the results are fascinating. Overall, 54% of quiz-takers prefer AI. A real moment! nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Regular startup: we closed a few customers and shipped some new features, good week so far Anthropic: we destroyed our main rival with our superbowl ads and tanked the entire software category in public markets by announcing some plugins, good week so far

Things that surprise first time CEOs 1. It’s more stressful than they thought, particularly being responsible for a lot of employees 2. You’re the shit umbrella for all the company’s woes. 3. There’s no one to complain to (other than your cofounder) 4. If you’ve done it awhile, you’ve dealt w a big crisis or two 5. When you’re down, X and Reddit kick the shit out of you personally. 6. Even if your company isn’t 996, you are. 7. It’s not glamorous What else?

explored a concept for a new direction of the @Opendoor mobile experience problem: opendoor enters the customer relationship too late in the their journey (they need to be ready to pull the trigger). they need to start building trust 1-2 years prior to their transaction date. solution: becomes the best place where people play/browse/become inspired with homes weekly—so when they’re finally ready, they associate: Homes = Opendoor why: zillow averages 227m unique visitors/mo - the majority are window-shoppers. @Opendoor should lean into that behavior and pivot the mobile app to a content-platform. ideas: - algorithmic content feed - engagement dynamics (likes/views/shares) - display homes outside of their managed supply (data more valuable over long-term) - use veo3 to convert listing images to videos (video in this prototype is) - add ai image adjustments (e.g. "make the kitchen cabinets white) this is what i would try! code is mostly written cc @nejatian @ericjackson @fahdananta $OPEN

A pattern I'm noticing as I do AI audits on dozens of $10m-$100m companies... Sales is one of the lowest hanging fruit places to leverage automation/AI. Crazy how much of a sellers time is spent...not selling. A combo of web-based agents, email automation, LLM-based email drafting (based on prospect context/past email performance) should save tons of time on low-leverage operational work.

@AdamAllAccess Adam i think you can answer the control group part haha m. But yeah it’s qualitative. Culture is an elusive thing but you know what you want or don’t want when you see it. Not a tangible measurable thing.
