Hey, jackass. Those things you listed aren’t constitutional rights. If you want voter id, fine. But then issue every single person an ID at no cost and with the ability to get a temporary one issued at the ballot box to vote with. Otherwise, you literally just want certain people not to vote. That’s it. Plain and simple.

My father grew up in the segregated South. He had to walk around to the BACK of a restaurant just to order a sandwich because he was black. THAT was Jim Crow. Not showing a photo ID to vote. You need an ID to: • Board a plane • Cash a check • Buy alcohol • Enter federal buildings But suddenly showing an ID to vote is “racist”? Give me a break. This is not civil rights. This is political theater. The Democrat Party survives by manufacturing grievance because they have nothing else to run on. Comparing voter ID laws to segregation is not just dishonest, it is insulting to the people who actually lived through Jim Crow. Asking Americans to prove they are who they say they are when they cast their vote is called common sense.

@SenBooker Oddly enough, the fact that democrats are demanding that black people have their own political district separate from other races is in itself demanding to go back to “separate but equal”. Republicans are the ones doing away with racially segregated voting districts.

Over 100 years ago today, the Supreme Court struck a blow against Black Americans in Plessy v. Ferguson. Just days ago, the court struck another blow against us. It took a movement moment to end “separate but equal” with Brown v. Board. We must meet this moment with a movement of our own — one that mobilizes, organizes, and fights relentlessly for what is right.

I’m not interested in discussing class consciousness with anyone who is white or white adjacent. Without acknowledging race, class consciousness overlooks how the economy has historically been structured to disadvantage Black and people of color.

72 years ago today in Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court declared that racial segregation is unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment. The fight for civil rights continues.
