@mrwx4caster Thought you might like to see this inversion from the north shore of Lake Erie across the lake to Cleveland and area. It’s now 10:55pm and can only see a few lights sorry about the clarity shot on my phone as I don’t have my tripod with me.

#ONStorm #ONwx 🌪️ BREAKING: Canada’s First Tornado of 2026 Confirmed in Ontario
The Northern Tornadoes Project has officially confirmed that the severe storm that moved through the Lucan and Granton area on May 9th produced both an EF0 tornado and an EF0 microburst.
This marks the first confirmed tornado in Canada for the 2026 season.
According to the NTP survey, the brief tornado occurred south of Granton around 4:05 PM EDT and produced estimated wind speeds of up to 110 km/h. Damage included a toppled vehicle pulling a trailer, a damaged solar panel mounted on a pedestal, and some broken large tree branches.
At the same time, a separate EF0 microburst was confirmed south of Lucan with estimated wind speeds up to 130 km/h. That burst of wind removed the roof from a barn.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported from either event.
The damage survey was completed on May 10th using both ground and drone analysis by the Northern Tornadoes Project. Due to the limited damage indicators, the tornado track details remain uncertain, though researchers believe the tornado path was likely at least 1 km long.
This serves as another reminder that even relatively weak tornadoes can still cause significant damage and create dangerous situations very quickly.
We’ll likely learn more once satellite imagery analysis is completed by the NTP.
