Every other report which is narrated via the same route that doesn't come from Al-Hakam mentions something else (the sun prostrates, as opposed to setting in murky water)
Therefore, the narration in Abu Dawud isn't ascribed to the Prophet Muhammad.

It doesn't say anything about his perspective, it says he FOUND the PLACE the sun sets

And even a 5 year old when he hears the story understands it is referring to Dhul Qarnayn's perspective. It isn't mentioning the sun literally sets in a muddy pool.

Surah 18:86 says Alexander the Great found the place the sun set, and there were people living there 😂
And of course, then he goes and finds the place where the sun rises (18:90) 😂

This wording about the sun setting in a pool here is narrated by a single route/narrator (Al-Hakam) and contradicts every other report that uses a different wording.
