@PaulGaier1 @ShadowofEzra So Iran will definitely use nukes if they get them but North Korea which has nukes won’t because they’re a deterrent just like the US, UK, China, Russia, France, India, Pakistan and Israel right?

@ShadowofEzra Trump's #1 goal is to prevent Iran from getting nukes. To claim that Trump is threatening to use them himself is bullshit and irresponsible. Unfollowing.

President Trump hints he may use a nuclear weapon against Iran and says the day of reckoning could be tomorrow, where the entire country of Iran could be taken out in one night. “The entire country could be taken out in one night, and that night could be tomorrow night.”

As US military Aircraft are forced to "fly around" European airspace to Iran- What would those European countries (and NATO Allies") do exactly, if the Americans just flew over them anyway? Think about it.

The Man Who Paid In & The Man Who Paid Nothing. Meet Frank, the man who paid in. Frank turned 80 last winter. He grafted 52 years as a builder in Manchester, his hands and back are broken from laying bricks in pouring rain. Every week he paid his National Insurance. Never claimed benefits. Never broke the law. He raised two kids on a council estate, paid his taxes and did his bit for the country he loves. Now he shuffles to the post office in the same coat he’s worn since 2018. His old Nokia phone barely holds the charge. His State Pension is £241.30 a week, just over £12,500 a year, but after gaps, Frank gets less. He counts every penny. Some weeks it’s heating or eating. Last winter around 2,500 people in England died from cold associated causes. Frank keeps the thermostat at 15 degrees and wears jumpers indoors. "I’m not living," he tells his neighbour. "I’m just existing." His wife, Margaret, has been in a care home for two years, dementia stealing her away. Frank struggles to keep their old car on the road for weekly visits. One more breakdown and those trips could end. Every pension day is the same. Frank walks past the bookies where young fighting age men fresh off small boats shout, laugh and slap down stacks of cash twice as thick as his weekly pension. He keeps his head down, clutching his wallet, praying nobody follows him home. His street no longer feels like his street. Fewer familiar faces. Foreign languages. The corner shop is now a Turkish barbers. He feels all alone in the city he once helped build. Meet Ahmed, the man who paid nothing. Ahmed arrived on a dinghy last summer, one of 41,472 Channel crossings in 2025, mostly young men from Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan and Sudan. He tossed his documents into the sea, then claimed asylum the moment the dinghy touched the beach. No passport. No papers. No contributions. The Home Office puts him in a hotel. Heating on full. Three meals a day. Security on the door.Ahmed strolls the streets in new clothes and the latest iPhone, using free bus shuttles twice a day, drinking and laughing with friends outside the same bookies Frank avoids. He broke immigration rules entering the country uninvited. Once granted asylum, the door opens to UK benefits and housing. Frank paid in all his life and obeyed every rule. He built the Britain that now houses Ahmed. Ahmed has paid nothing and doesn't obey the rules, he receives shelter, warmth, food, free transport and pocket money while Frank rations food, huddles under blankets to keep warm and constantly worries about money. Tonight as Ahmed relaxes in a warm hotel room with new Nike trainers by the bed, wondering what’s for dinner. Frank sits in his cold home wondering why a lifetime of hard work brings only deprivation. This story is repeating in towns and cities across the country. This isn’t fairness. This is a betrayal. #UKNews #UKPolitics #StopTheBoats

Iceland switched on the biggest air-cleaning machine on Earth. In May 2024, a facility called Mammoth began operations in Iceland. Built by Swiss company Climeworks, it’s designed to remove up to 36,000 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year – 10 times more than its predecessor, Orca. The process is called direct air capture (DAC). Giant fans pull in ambient air, and specialized filters trap CO₂ molecules. That CO₂ is then mixed with water and pumped deep underground into basalt rock formations, where it slowly turns into solid stone through a natural mineralization process. And it’s all powered by Iceland’s geothermal energy, meaning the entire system runs on clean, renewable power. The captured CO₂ is stored by Climeworks’ partner, Carbfix, which developed the underground injection method. Over time, the gas reacts with the rock and becomes part of the Earth – locked away for good.

I tried to turn on my heated car seats this morning. A pop-up on the dashboard told me my free trial had expired. I'm freezing in my own driveway because I forgot to renew my seat subscription. When did this become normal? I own the car. The heating coils are physically inside the seat. But a server in California decided my lower back doesn't deserve warmth today. To fix it, I have to download an app, create an account, and pay eight dollars a month. I refused on principle. Instead, I drove to work shivering while sitting on a microwaved towel. My coworker asked why I smelled like damp cotton. I told him I was protesting the modern economy. Tomorrow I'm supposed to buy a smart toaster. I'm terrified it will hold my bagels hostage until I watch a thirty-second ad.

@CountBiffa @In_theshadows8 @stpd_humans @Rainmaker1973 The designers get paid to design it, the contractors get paid to build it and machinery needs maintenance and replacement. Are EVs magic machines that once purchased never need maintenance or battery replacement after 6-8-10 years?🤣

@In_theshadows8 @stpd_humans @Rainmaker1973 They said 'It spends more energy and burns more carbon.' No mention of building it, which is a one-off use of materials, rather than continually burning carbon. Presumably that's been fully taken into account. Obviously you think you know better than the designers though. 🙄

Hi Rebecca The boats literally can't come all the way to Scotland on a dinghy. They're transferred by bus, trains and flights in the middle of the night, often with police guards. They dropped 15 bus loads off in Fife this year alone. They offered local landlords 3 year deals to put then up, they also removed all the single homeless men in holding flats to make way for them. This often means vulnerable young Scottish men are having to move into sub standard shared accomodation to make way for African men. Incidentally, for the first time in history last November , in Fife, my county, there wasn't a single property for rent.... anywhere, because the council paid landlords for all these properties to be reserved, you guessed it..... for.......🤔 Also, whilst we're here, my friend has a taxi firm in Kirkcaldy, he's just been handed the biggest contract he's ever had to make sure migrant kids can get to and from school, leisure centres, sports facilities, parks etc this includes their interpreters. Sexual offences in Fife were the highest in recorded history last year, it's now so bad, the Scottish government now forbid the police to disclose the true figure. In fact, right now in Scotland, it's almost impossible to get ANY data for anything related to immigration for this coming year, they've even stopped collecting it because if the public knew just how bad the rape data, the immigration costs, the lack of housing and pressure on education, health and public services was.... the country would collapse. But you're to fucking dumb, like all myopic left field socialist who are quietly lapping up and enjoying the systematic deconstruction of the west. And fwiw, we will remember 👍

@Telegraph If someone said they hated spiders, rats, snakes, or hamsters, very few would judge him for it. It's dogs and cats, that people defend fiercely. You're not allowed to hate *those* pets. It's like they are sacred animals. Very curious phenomenon.

@AdrianBoarder @KathyParr101 Yeah, It's OK I'm a GP so I know what I'm talking about. What you have found was a specific scheme in Birmingham only. As far as I aware it was not successful in any way. Birmingham CCG, like all CCGs ceases to exist on 1st July 2022. This is not what is being talked about.

NHS care is now being rationed. GPs have been told (and will be paid) to refuse, at least, 1 out of 4 specialist referrals to hospitals in order to reduce waiting lists by 25% minimum. Wes Streeting is a dangerous menace. This is an inhumane way to reduce waiting lists.

@afneil Either you are ignorant of the facts — or knowingly lying. The reason we were a net recipient of migrants in 2018 is that very few people arrived in small boats. If we were still party to this agreement, then the vast numbers now arriving would make us beneficiaries.

Keir Starmer claims Nigel Farage is to blame for the boat people because Brexit took us out of the Dublin Convention (in 2020), which allowed us to return asylum seekers to the EU countries from whence they came. The PM is either ignorant of the facts — or knowingly lying. Neither is a good look. The Dublin Convention was a two-way street for asylum seekers. Yes, we could try to return them. But others could also be returned to us. As a result the Dublin Agreement actually made us a net recipient of asylum seekers. Take 2018. We made 5,500 requests for asylum seekers to be returned. Only 209 transfers were agreed. In the same year, under the same convention we accepted 1,215 asylum seekers. So we were net recipients by over 1,000. The Dublin Convention did nothing to make it easier to return asylum seekers. Nearly all politicians are cavalier with the truth when it suits them. But Starmer is taking this to a new level.

“Let’s spend £4.5 trillion on net zero over the next 25 years. Let’s increase taxes to pay for net zero. Let’s ban new oil and gas licences in the North Sea but spaff away £40billion buying North Sea oil and gas from Norway. Let’s buy coking coal shipments worth £7.2million from Japan but ban UK coal mining. Let’s plaster thousands of acres of farmland with solar panels but spend £50million on sun dimming experiments. Let’s give huge renewable energy construction contracts to China. Lets fail to improve gas storage facilities, Let’s give Drax an estimated £1.8billlion in taxpayer funded subsidies on top of the £11billion it has already received despite Drax burning an amount of wood equivalent to 300 million trees. Let’s give £1billion this year alone to wind power companies not to generate power from their wind turbines. And let’s spend £30billion of taxpayers’ money on carbon capture machines but put pensioners, farmers and the disabled into financial peril by claiming there’s a £22bn black hole.”
