Sleep doctor reveals how drinking coffee and taking a quick nap can reset you for up to 4 hours “You take a cup of drip black coffee, just throw in a couple of ice cubes, right, merely to cool it down, drink it as fast as you can, then immediately take a 25 minute nap. The adenosine that’s built up in your brain will burn through while you’re napping, and caffeine, since it’s so close in molecular structure, can fit into that receptor site. It blocks any new adenosine. You’re good for four hours, guaranteed” “I use it with every CEO that I work with. Let’s say you only got three hours of sleep the other night and you’ve got a big presentation to do or an award ceremony or something like that, you can do a nappa latte for about 25 minutes or so, and you will feel much better”

"Mr. Patel’s assistant is the brother of Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei’s chief of staff, who is in turn the fiancée of Leopold Aschenbrenner, Mr. Patel’s friend and former podcast guest from whose multibillion-dollar A.I.-focused investment fund, Situational Awareness, Mr. Patel sublets office space. Sholto Douglas, a researcher at Anthropic who is one of Mr. Patel’s roommates and a repeat guest on his podcast, recently competed with Mr. Patel in a “chestmaxxing” showdown on a YouTube show called “Swole as a Service” (where standing shoulder presses meet A.I. chitchat). “People don’t think of him as a commentator on A.I.,” says Sasha de Marigny, chief communications officer at Anthropic. “He’s very much in the community, in the inner ring.” One of the reasons smart, rich, busy people like to appear on his podcast is that Mr. Patel goes sufficiently deep in the weeds to ask questions no one else would. He’ll spend up to two weeks preparing for an interview, using flash cards to help master the material, writing elaborate question trees to anticipate the branching paths a conversation might take, and hiring tutors for topics such as economics, hardware and physics. He spends much of his time reading and thinking and talking to L.L.M.s. Interesting piece 👇🏽 nytimes.com/2026/04/26/bus…

In India, the unemployment rate for illiterates is 3%. For graduates aged 15 to 24, it's 40%. The more educated you are in this country, the more likely you are to be jobless. Not because education is worthless, but because it creates aspirations the economy struggles to absorb. 🧵👇

Yah it’s really weird. Plus 4.6 when first released was incredible. I have a GPT skill that checks the work and gives me metrics on bugs, code quality etc. and noticed it getting worse week by week. Someone did the benchmarks and from 4 weeks ago to now is 65% worse. They did some throttling on the back end that looks like it’s forcing max effort of 25 vs 100 even if you specify max. It’s really weird

I understand there’s a ton of Claude fans out there. I was there too 4-5 weeks ago. Then it got way way way worse and without explanation. What’s worse is that I would consider myself a heavy power user. What about the folks that aren’t and have no idea it was dumbed down over 60% or more since its initial release and are using this day to day. Codex is outperforming Claude in every way right now. Additionally OpenAI is much more transparent, cheaper, and produces much better code in every way to Claude at the moment. Claude has massive outages, lack of transparency to users, some really bad operational and security practices. They’ve lost me. I’m done. What happened ?

@HackingDave Oh, maybe we should investigate it then. I have been using it along side with Gemini on Antigravity anyway so maybe that's why it was evident.

That was the case for me 4 weeks ago, it’s substantially declined and the model has been severely degraded. I would be very cautious right now on the code it produces. It’s not good. This is all over social/reddit/etc with hard metrics and data to support something’s awfully wrong with Claude right now.

There is no evidence that they DID NOT. Much more implicative evidence that they DID. Our religion doesn't have any restrictions on consumption of meat. Vegetarianism, in large part, is the pastime of, pathetic, performative millennials who have nothing better to do than lecture the rest of us about what's on our plates.

Great men of history had little to no introspection. The personality that builds empires is not the same personality that sits around quietly questioning itself. @pmarca and I discuss what we both noticed but no one talks about: David: You don't have any levels of introspection? Marc: Yes, zero. As little as possible. David: Why? Marc: Move forward. Go! I found people who dwell in the past get stuck in the past. It's a real problem and it's a problem at work and it's a problem at home. David: So I've read 400 biographies of history’s greatest entrepreneurs and someone asked me what the most surprising thing I’ve learned from this was [and I answered] they have little or zero introspection. Sam Walton didn't wake up thinking about his internal self. He just woke up and was like: I like building Walmart. I'm going to keep building Walmart. I'm going to make more Walmarts. And he just kept doing it over and over again. Marc: If you go back 400 years ago it never would've occurred to anybody to be introspective. All of the modern conceptions around introspection and therapy, and all the things that kind of result from that are, a kind of a manufacture of the 1910s, 1920s. Great men of history didn't sit around doing this stuff. The individual runs and does all these things and builds things and builds empires and builds companies and builds technology. And then this kind of this kind of guilt based whammy kind of showed up from Europe. A lot of it from Vienna in 1910, 1920s, Freud and all that entire movement. And kind of turned all that inward and basically said, okay, now we need to basically second guess the individual. We need to criticize the individual. The individual needs to self criticize. The individual needs to feel guilt, needs to look backwards, needs to dwell in the past. It never resonated with me.

Laura Loomer went to India and got called out her racist comments about Indians. But why was she there and why did she apologize for her comments about Indians? Because Israel First is moving in onto India next. They’re trying to get them to hate Muslims, like they did in the US.

This is the inevitable outcome of an out of control stray dog problem ... people are losing their humanity as they feel helpless against the system, i am sure this lady has some deep trauma about a dog attack, but now since there is a huge lobby protecting stray dogs from being relocated, people are now becoming inhumane towards them ...

You are totally right. I mistakenly supported @RoKhanna. And wait until you get to his insights or lack thereof on foreign policy. He is a total disaster. I fell for his nice guy/I totally get technology routine. My bad.
Chamath Palihapitiya@chamath

So it turns out that the sitting local Democratic congressman in Silicon Valley, @RoKhanna, is the most un-entrepreneurial, creative or innovative person possible. He is: 1) In favor of California’s Property Seizure tax that he calls a “Billionaire” Tax. It’s already led to half of California’s Billionaire wealth to flee the state which will leave the middle class to pay for the lost revenues. 2) Despite this, he then teamed up with Bernie Sanders to propose an additional national 5% wealth tax to spend on God knows what. 3) Despite all the virtue signaling on inequality, he is also one of the most prolific traders in Congress where just last year he traded $55.7m of stock. With everything he learns in Congress to help him, he beat the market by 13%. Ro’s ambition is what matters most to him and he will flop from dumb idea to dumb idea if he thinks it will serve his broader political ambitions. Currently that means being a quasi socialist to win favor with the extreme left of his Party. He doesn’t deserve to represent Silicon Valley and I hope he loses badly in his re-election.
