It was great to welcome them to London concluding a brilliant 2-week work experience programme. Well done to the team at @ICClimited for making it happen. I look forward to our continued partnership with @lpoolcouncil

The day is finally here. I look forward to attending the Spatial Data Science Conference in London today. I am interested to see the new ways data can be used to produce useful insights and positive outcomes for local authorities. If you're attending the conference, do say hello!

the process of making these has been vastly speeded up since I got a new pc with a ~slightly~ better graphics card - rendering now minutes rather than hours (although I do zero gaming, can be useful for that too!)

Ordnance Survey open data + QGIS, with a circular clip/fade in the print layout and you get some fancy, same-scale city footprint graphics, if you're into that kind of thing

@Brent_Council is it possible to have more frequent bin collection in Northwick Park. Rubbish has piled up around bins and has been blown by the wind to cover a large area.

@adam_dennett @jreades The issue is that USB-C only defines the form factor and not the transmission type/speed. A USB-C cable/port can be USB 2, USB 3, USB 3.1, USB 4 (this one is new), thunderbolt 3 and probably others. Its really annoying. You probably needed a thunderbolt 3 cable.

@jreades If only you'd figured this out last week before I purchased some regular USB-C to USB-C cables last week and then wondered why they didn't transmit my laptop picture to my monitor!!

Thoughts on why achieving net zero emissions is more than a plan to replace all cars with electric vehicles, and why agent based models are a helpful tool for planning with complexity. bit.ly/2NB0T4s

The potential of cargo bikes for large scale logistics is still mostly misunderstood. To break it down, we looked at the data from the Pedal Me fleet in London in September. Read our report on the future of urban mobility. Summary thread below 🧵⬇⬇⬇ pedalme.co.uk/why-cargo-bike…

@hannahker11 @nature_org This is super cool. The twitter algorithm is doing a poor job showing me all the awesome maps you've made recently.

As identified by the @nature_org Global Development Risk assessment, "95% of the Earth’s surface has some indication of human modification". Seems an appropriate subject for Day 18 (land use) of the #30DayMapChallenge
