If a muslim majority country like Indonesia can restore Temples why can't a Hindu Majority India restore Martand Surya Mandir ?

His name was Arif Mohammad Khan. He was 36 years old. A Cabinet Minister in Rajiv Gandhi’s government. In 1985, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Shah Bano, a 73-year-old Muslim woman from Indore who had been divorced after 43 years of marriage. Her husband paid her a small sum under Muslim personal law and claimed his obligation was complete. The Supreme Court disagreed. It said Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code applied to every Indian citizen, regardless of religion. Shah Bano was entitled to maintenance. Arif Mohammad Khan stood up in Parliament and defended the judgment. He said the law must protect every Indian woman without exception. It became one of the most powerful speeches heard in Parliament that decade. Then the government reversed its position. Facing pressure from orthodox religious leaders, Rajiv Gandhi’s government passed the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986. It effectively nullified the Supreme Court ruling. Shah Bano would no longer receive maintenance under Section 125. Arif Mohammad Khan refused to support the bill. He resigned from the Cabinet. His political career collapsed. He spent years out of power. Shah Bano later withdrew her claim under community pressure. She died in 1992 without ever receiving her maintenance. The principle overturned in 1986 was effectively restored decades later through later Supreme Court judgments, including the Triple Talaq verdict of 2017. Thirty-one years later. Arif Mohammad Khan would later become the Governor of Kerala. He once said: “I did what my conscience told me. I have no regrets.” His party called it a mistake. History did not. Follow for stories India deserves to remember.

Iqra Khatoon Arranges Marriage Using Photo of Hindu Man; Mu$lim Youth Arrives with Wedding Procession: Public Outrage as Real Identity Revealed; 5 Arrested in Bihar. A wedding in Darbhanga, Bihar, turned into a controv€rsy when the bride's family halted the ceremony, accusing the groom and his wedding party of concealing their true identities and committing fraud. The bride's mother and relatives stated that the match was arranged after they were shown a photograph of a Hindu man; however, on the day of the wedding, the groom who arrived with the procession turned out to be a Mu$lim and significantly older in age. The relatives alleged that Iqra Khatoon—the woman who brokered the marriage—exerted constant pressure on them and attempted to push the wedding through by transferring ₹20,000 online. The bride's mother further alleged that plans were being made to marry off her daughter and send her away to Rajasthan. The family noted that their suspicions were aroused early on, as the wedding procession consisted of only six people. The bride's family accused the female broker of attempting to alter the groom's identity by procuring a fraudulent Aadhaar card. Serious Allegations Leveled Against Marriage Broker; Police Launch Investigation. Iqra Khatoon, the woman accused in this case, hails from Jale. It is reported that she had lived in Rajasthan for several years, where she first established contact with the groom's family. She is alleged to have brokered the match by promising the bride's mother a sum of ₹50,000. However, the bride's family claims they received only ₹20,000 via an online transfer. The bride's family asserted that the entire affair revolves around financial transactions and fraud committed under the guise of marriage. Meanwhile, during a local council (Panchayat) meeting, some individuals who examined the Aadhaar card disputed the claim that the groom was Mu$lim, pointing out that his caste was officially recorded as "Mahto" in the document. Upon receiving information regarding the incident, the police from the Jale police station arrived at the scene. The police confirmed that five individuals have been arrested following a formal complaint filed by the bride's family. Authorities are currently interrogating the entire network involved in the scheme, as well as the specific individuals responsible for arranging the marriage. The investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
