This is wrong on a number of levels, but I’ll engage one part of it: One distinction between liberalism and leftism on rights is an emphasis on civil rights vs social rights -- but also these things are not mutually exclusive, and many democratic socialists want both to be enshrined in our political system and economy. One example is Martin Luther King Jr.

One of the reasons I am a liberal and not a leftist is that leftist morality is about power, not rights. Good actions reduce power imbalances, bad actions exacerbate them. Murder, theft, and discrimination can all be justified if they harm a “powerful” person or group. Liberals condemn these actions because they violate individual rights and dignity. Liberalism seeks equal rights, leftism seeks equal power.

@Twin_Sunsett @WarMonitor3 The deal is, if Russia attacks any of these, they get attacked in return. If they nuke any of these, they get nuked in return. The obvious lesson here is that Russia should learn it will never be able to attack any of its neighbors again.

Wow...the balance in the treasury accounts has dropped to 3.840 trillion. THAT'S THE LOWEST IN 3 YEARS!!!! It's noteworthy that in December the balance was 12 trillion rubles, and now it's 3.84 trillion!!!!!

@JayinKyiv I understand people want Russians to suffer (I do too), but this is an environmental tragedy, and no one should celebrate it.

The situation on Russia's Black Sea coast continues to spiral, as the oil that's been raining on the city of Tuapse for four solid days is now covering the Russians themselves - complaining it's in their hair, on clothes and in their filthy mouths.
